I went into S3 not thinking I/we necessarily needed an S3...and when it was done I wanted the next season right fucking now!

excited to see new season

Just finished the new episode two: this obviously wasn't their intent, but it feels to me like this season is thematically going to come off a bit more loaded in light of the Taylor Tomlinson/After Midnight situation.

episode 1 had me rolling - i love this show so much

Meg Stalter is the MVP so far. Robby Hoffman (who I'd never heard of) was great too. Overall I'm enjoying the Jimmy + Kayla sidebars way more than the Deborah + Ava main course.

Also, several weeks of me going "Where's Jimmy and Kayla? I need more Jimmy and Kayla" made me appreciate the fact that they were not current on Deborah and Ava's beef status.

And I hope we hear more about the Fatty Arbuckle biopic, because it's a great runner.

In a season of classic Jimmy & Kayla, Ep 9 might have <the greatest> Jimmy & Kayla.

Also love how DanceMom has become a live-action Bojack character.

wasn't enjoying this season very much but latest episode more than made up for it!

The last two episodes have been so good, it made up for the slow start. The show works well when Ava and Deborah have tension, sure, but full on battling with each other got boring quick.

Also, love that bernard snowy got his wish, "he's decided to go full method for Fatty Arbuckle, except he's a vegan".

Kayla's impassioned rant/monologue/meltdown in episode 9 was some of the greatest TV comedy I've seen. I feel like we've rarely seen Meg Stalter act opposite Jean Smart and she definitely brought her 'A' game for that scene.

I felt a little unsatisfied with the pat way that the conflict in this episode got resolved, up until the legitimately frightening jump-scare appearance of Bob Lipka. Curious to see where things stand after the finale -- is Deborah getting sued? Will she burn a bitch's house down? Have we seen the last of the coyotes? STAY TUNED

Hundred percent. It is funny to me how much this week's episode mirrored last week's episode of The Studio, though. Almost as if drugs are common in Hollywood or something.

I was sad to see that people are apparently not watching this show. I hope it doesn't get axed.

I think it's been enough of a critical/industry favorite -- it's certain to get a bunch of Emmy nominations in a couple of months -- that I'd be surprised if HBO didn't let it end on its own terms.

Would rewatch this season simply to chart the metamorphosis of Dance Mom.

oh god the Dance Mom arc is so perfect & hilarious (ie renting that crazy house from Adam Levine AND shes texting w/him loooooooool)

the Norman Bates guy on the studio lot was the irl guy who really does Bates on the lot tours!

and her thinking the Desperate Housewives house was Sex & The City lmao

OH and the pickup basketball scene w Aristotle Athari was SO funny esp the way Ava runs pathetically towards camera at the end

I just started S4 and (after the spectacular narrative choreography of S3, what an amazing thing it was) the sudden "oh great, Ava and Deborah are fighting again" plot twist felt like getting slapped in the face with a fart, but I've been assured that it's a good season and I'm happy to continue

I agree re:fart face slap and also re:worth it to keep watching. It started to pick up for me in Vegas. I like the balance between stunt casting/cameos and writing big parts for unknown comedians. I didn't like the H.R. lady at first but her dislikability grew on me.

just catching up, wasn't sure about the first episode, more of this? then second episode...the new assistant, recognize her from Dying for Sex, where I really didn't like her. But maybe just didn't like her character. Because holy damn did she crack me up in this (second) episode of Hacks s4.
