Late Review

Is it just me, or is this possibly, the snobbiest program, ever to reach transmission? As far as I'm concerned, it's just a bunch of airy fairy, arty farty wankers, using big complicated words to prove how clever they are. Lawson, Wark, those Greer bitches and Tom Paulin should die an ugly horrid death.

*sobs*

The space is vital, Katie!

Is there a squad of Greers on the show? I'd only noticed one.

How can one possibly take your question seriously when the first sentence has too many commas in it? < / appalling snobbery >

How can one possibly take Late Review seriously after Dead Ringers?

(tho' why does their "mark lawson" look more like a mismatched crossbreed between cliff michelmore and philip larkin? perhaps they should have got ross kemp to play him - "IT WAS THE NEXT LOGICAL STEP!")

Marcello Carlin, Wednesday, 27 November 2002 14:05 (twenty-three years ago)

you can never have too many commas

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 27 November 2002 14:09 (twenty-three years ago)

There are two unrelated Greers but I have unhelpfully forgotten the first name of the one who isn't Germaine. I like them both, too.

Pam!

(Bonnie Greer. That "your post has been submitted" page is a great memory-jogger when it comes to idiocy and ignorance in posts.)

Tom paulin is OK but they devote little time to discussing anything anyway. but yes, this is what 'arts' on BBC2 has come to since so many programmes have been drained to BBC4 on digital (last night I saw a nice doc abt robert crumb, this comic book artist, which was enjoyable: but the point is this would prob be screened on BBC2).

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 27 November 2002 18:10 (twenty-three years ago)

I hate bloody tom paulin, I think it's his voice that makes my brain start seeping out of my ears. Tragedy is that they cover interesting stuff but just don't seem to be able to say anything sensible about it. Try this place though, this is wicked: http://www.bbc.co.uk/collective

this comic book artist, THIS comic book artist?? skidmore to thread obv. I saw one on Annie Leibowitz, this photographer. gah

;-)

What's wrong with "this comic book artist"? Most people hadn't heard of Crumb before that film - by, it should be noted, Terry Zwigoff of Ghost World fame, another comic book link.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 28 November 2002 18:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Alan- The point is that it was a good doc that should have been on BBC2 but was instead shown on BBC4, which the majority of the population does not have.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 28 November 2002 19:56 (twenty-three years ago)

It had been on terrestrial at least once before, can't remember what channel though.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 28 November 2002 19:58 (twenty-three years ago)
