katie (katie), Wednesday, 27 November 2002 12:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Cor. And now I'm wondering if it's worth a quick trip to the ICA tonight for some tickets.

(Waaaah how do people ever have MONEY for these things???)

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 27 November 2002 12:27 (twenty-three years ago)

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 27 November 2002 12:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 27 November 2002 12:30 (twenty-three years ago)

The ICA are also exhibiting that vinyl video machine this month, which looks like it might be fun.

(Sarah, you need to renew your membership!)

RickyT (RickyT), Wednesday, 27 November 2002 12:30 (twenty-three years ago)

And they've got Capitol K playing. And Iain Sinclair's Orbital film thingy. And a Kurosawa/Mifune film season. I ph34r this is all nowt but a cunning plot to make me renew my membership for another year.

RickyT (RickyT), Wednesday, 27 November 2002 12:33 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought he was from Nottingham, not Manchester like it says in the ICA blurb?

(I think this is the fourth time I've mentioned Nottingham on ILE in two days. The place is starting to haunt my brain. Why?)

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 27 November 2002 13:13 (twenty-three years ago)

B-b-b-but!!!!!!!

Sarah's bank balance (starry), Wednesday, 27 November 2002 13:15 (twenty-three years ago)

The ICA are also exhibiting that vinyl video machine this month, which looks like it might be fun.

The website for that vinyl video machine is here. It's very weird.

Chriddof (Chriddof), Wednesday, 27 November 2002 15:41 (twenty-three years ago)

seems like a great FAP opportunity beforehand as well - anyone else here going?

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 27 November 2002 17:48 (twenty-three years ago)

piscesboy, Thursday, 28 November 2002 15:43 (twenty-three years ago)

(Rick me and aubrey want to go! get thee tickets for us & we will give you CASH! go on o you mite)

katie (katie), Thursday, 28 November 2002 15:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Where is he from? Tag says that Ladytron say that someone in London says that he's from London. But I've also been told that he's from Nottingham. He sounds like a dirty Salford scummer to me though. Anyone got the facts?

So long as tickets are still available tomorrow night I and four rowdy friends will be journeying down from Wigan to check him out. Can anyone recommend the nearest cheapest hostel to the ICA?

And I'm still waiting on someone to put some backing music to that radio skit thats just come out. Any takers?

Ian SPACK (Ian SPACK), Thursday, 28 November 2002 17:08 (twenty-three years ago)

someone get me a ticket please.

alix (alix), Thursday, 28 November 2002 17:37 (twenty-three years ago)

i'll be heartbroken if he's from London, and that a Londonista speaking

stevem (blueski), Friday, 29 November 2002 02:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Is there anywhere I can download that Pitman radio skit?

Oo, Capitol K. Shame they put him on the same night as Alec Empire, I ph34r the sanctimonious dullardry (yes, I know I'm a sanctimonious dullard too) of the cooler-than-thou DHR fanboy crowd that will turn up. Yes, you're really clever for listening to stuff your parents don't like, oh my, yes, "fuck the system! burn stuff! revolution!" surely is incisive political commentary, now please let me skulk quietly in the corner without having my haircut mocked.

Yay Max Tundra, though. But I will not be there, obviously.

(Now to decide whether I can be bothered to spend my week's wages on a gig tomorrow night when I'd have to leave early and when not only will I have the usual gig feeling of suspecting everyone else in the audience hates me but I'll be fairly sure the band do too...)

Rebecca (reb), Friday, 29 November 2002 02:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Rebecca, I've got the Pitman radio 1 skit on Soulseek but if you can't be fussed with all that just email me and I'll send it as an attachment. It's 980kb so make sure there's enough room in your email acount.

Ian SPACK (Ian SPACK), Friday, 29 November 2002 11:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Lixi I am getting loads of tickets tonight (and probably bankrupting myself to boot - are you an ICA member? If so, it's 8, if not, 10).

Sarah (starry), Friday, 29 November 2002 12:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh hold up Ian, you're coming too? Show us a picture of you then so we can all say hello (unless you have SPACK tattooed across yr forehead in which case prob needn't bother unless your HUGE INDIE FRINGE hides it).

Sarah (starry), Friday, 29 November 2002 12:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Right right right, just ordered me tickets. There's 150 left! I thought it'd be a sell-out but maybe it's just you London fashionistas and a pocket of northern scrotes who thinks he's The Shit. I've got a mad worry that he'll pull out at the last minute and it'll be an 8 hour drive for jack shit (I heard Blak Twang and he's wank, he gives lines about Phil Mitchell IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, nah mate).

I don't have SPACK on me fod and neither do I have a big twatter fringe. I do however have a mean face like a policemen according to some 40 yr old angry Scots who tried to throw me on a fire at Reading last year.

If anyone has advice on how to get there by car or a site that gives good mapping then go on, tell me.

Ian SPACK (Ian SPACK), Monday, 2 December 2002 19:48 (twenty-three years ago)

i am going to lali puna/buck 65/boom bip instead

bob zemko (bob), Monday, 2 December 2002 20:37 (twenty-three years ago)

where is that, not that I can come

Ed (dali), Monday, 2 December 2002 20:46 (twenty-three years ago)

oh union chapel

This summer we took boom bip to paignton

Ed (dali), Monday, 2 December 2002 20:48 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm looking forward to him least, but was he good for you?

bob zemko (bob), Monday, 2 December 2002 20:52 (twenty-three years ago)

We played football on the beach and had fish and chips and drank in the 60s cafe above the prom. unfortunately we didn't have time to take the steam train to kingswear. Seed to sun is one of my favorite albums of the year, but as yet I've not seen him live. We did take him and some of the other mush (Dose one and one other I forget which one) people to Tate Modern though.

Ed (dali), Monday, 2 December 2002 20:57 (twenty-three years ago)

i wuv dose

bob zemko (bob), Monday, 2 December 2002 21:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Mush/Lex have been stunning this year. Also Def Jux, Hefty and Anticon should be given praise aswell.

Ed (dali), Monday, 2 December 2002 21:05 (twenty-three years ago)

So how was Mr Pitman and Tony Rotten?

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 5 December 2002 15:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Pitman was good - funny and met expectations pretty much.

Twang was on good form - battled the shit sound (ICA set-up not used to people bouncing up and down onstage methinks) with great a capellas, lots of the album tracks came to life a bit, many heads were nodded - the singles, conversely, underwhelmed a bit. I think I left 1 song before the end though as I had godawful heartburn and had to get something for it asap.

The MC was grebt - as Tim said, exactly how you'd hope s trife would be in real life.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 5 December 2002 15:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Mm Buck 65 in Brighton again soon. Expensive but I think I might skimp on Xmas presents so I can go. The best gift is me being in a good mood because I have seen Buck, non? Well, maybe...

Archel (Archel), Thursday, 5 December 2002 15:39 (twenty-three years ago)

buck 65 can only get more expensive because he's just signed to WEA.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 5 December 2002 16:29 (twenty-three years ago)
