From The Lake District to Barrow-in-Furness to Carlisle, there's something for everyone in Cumbria. You can walk up some hills, chew on a Kendall mintcake, go to see the Emlyn Hughes statue, reminisce about the Sellafield incident or go to one of the many Michelin-starred restaurants, more than in any other county, don't you know.
What's your favourite Cumbria memory? I once caught scarlet fever from the kids' play room at a hotel just outside Carlisle. That's probably not it.

I'm watching this in the RAF Club in Silloth. Wrong side of the Solway Firth. Once upon a time when I was working at L4ncaster University, it was my turn to be the designated staff member on a coach trip into Cumbria for new international students. The coach driver looked like Bobby Ball and took it upon himself to provide a running commentary on what could be seen on the way. I recall him pointing out a Reebok warehouse on the outskirts of Morecambe (NB: not Cumbria) and claiming it was the biggest building in Europe; also he saw a small flock of Herdwick sheep on a hillside and saying "the amazing thing about Ardwick sheep is that you can take them anywhere and they will always find their way home". I haven't been able to find any evidence to back this claim up.
