it is probably from the 80s, but it may be earlier than that. i cant remember anything about it, other than a clear image of the drawing style. it may have been on some kind of island

(hehe let's talk about other crocodiles, i am thinking of DOC CROC from Around The Bend!)

(bet that kills the thread...)

katie (katie), Thursday, 28 November 2002 14:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Hahaaaaaargh! Of course it won't kill the thread: Doc Croc was wicked cool. My favourite bit was the Thunderpants spoof thing, also Wee-Man and the Masters of the Puniverse was pretty gd also. Was not Jamie and the Magic Kilt extweemly rude for a kids' programme, or is that just me imbueing it with more smut than it actually had? I mean, young lad miraculously whips all sorts of things out frae under his tarrrtan skirt...

OOH and lest we forget TOMMY's TIME TROUSERS! i was writing about William's Wish Wellingtons earlier on and couldn't stop chuckling about the time trousers "rewrite". and Wee-Man was GENIUS - as was Thunderpants feat. BUMM-RA!!

katie (katie), Thursday, 28 November 2002 14:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Not forgetting Grotbags' sidekick Croc on the Pink Windmill.

it wasnt dahl

gareth (gareth), Friday, 29 November 2002 10:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Sophie maybe.

Why does the crocodile hold such a fascination over us? Is it its tie back to the dinosaur heritage of our planet. Is it the rows upon rows of pearly whites. Is it the uncanny way it sleeps with one eye open to watch you all the time?

Or is it Jimmy Nail's Crocodile shoes?

Pete (Pete), Friday, 29 November 2002 11:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Or is it Crocodile Dundee? And his instinctive talent for identifying knives.

robster (robster), Friday, 29 November 2002 11:54 (twenty-three years ago)

no, his recognition is limited only to big knives: "that's not a knife" - it is, it's just smaller.

six years pass...

does anyone know of a good website service that can print books for you, specifically I'm drawing a childrens book with mostly illustrations. I'm not really interested in selling it or anything, because I'm just doing this as a one off for a friend.

I've heard of somewhere called lulu.com, which I've checked out. But are there any others ilxors may have used, I'm in uk if that might make any difference. Cost isn't that much of an issue, but obv cheaper the better.

I made a one-ff book of photos using Photobox and it looked excellent. Not exactly cheap but they do have a sale on at the moment. I think it depends on what you want the prose to look like - there's not a lot of scope on photobox books iirc.
