I'm sick. I'm staying home. Also I'm depressed about my upcoming birthday (I feel over-the-hill &c) and I just want to curl up with my blanket and my stuffed bear.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 28 November 2002 17:20 (twenty-three years ago)

hi jbr. this morning i pulled some steel out of a vat of hydrochloric acid!! (exaggerating)

but later will go to step-sis for eating and supposed merrymaking. sorry you are not feeling well. you are young!

ron (ron), Thursday, 28 November 2002 17:33 (twenty-three years ago)

No, I'm old. I'm an old, old lady.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 28 November 2002 17:47 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm not doing anything. I have plans of cleaning my bathroom, a way that I take advantage of holidays I don't observe (which is just about all of them). I don't want to have to hear, "But most of all I am thankful to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior for the gift of Eternal Life. . ." My family is quite religious, and has its evangelical wing.

I am going to use this an excuse to eat lots of food, however.

Rockist Scientist, Thursday, 28 November 2002 17:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I am going to an art opening. In London.

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 28 November 2002 17:53 (twenty-three years ago)

chaki (chaki), Thursday, 28 November 2002 18:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I like alot of American bands, so I have taken the day off tomorrow.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 28 November 2002 18:17 (twenty-three years ago)

I am going to eat leftover lamb briyani, saag panir, and keema paratha, followed by cherry pie and maybe chips and salsa.

Rockist Scientist, Thursday, 28 November 2002 18:24 (twenty-three years ago)

i wish i had band practice! must wait til tuesday :-(

ron (ron), Thursday, 28 November 2002 18:27 (twenty-three years ago)

I think I'm going to an art gallery. (Not the same one as Suzy, though. I'm going to see a band play at one, actually.) I totally forgot it was even Thanksgiving until I got an email from my mum.

kate, Thursday, 28 November 2002 18:30 (twenty-three years ago)

not doing much, which is how I like it. Mom is coming to visit for the long weekend, which I'm v. happy about. We will sit around and read books together or something extremely low-key like that.

teeny (teeny), Thursday, 28 November 2002 18:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm having the usual dinner with family, but I've got a bad cold so Thanksgiving's going to be a bit 'meh' this year.

Justyn Dillingham (Justyn Dillingham), Thursday, 28 November 2002 19:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey, Jody, I have a birthday coming up soon, too.. and I'm an "old, old" man. Maybe we can have a joint grump-out.

donut bitch (donut), Thursday, 28 November 2002 19:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Happy Thanksgiving Jody.

If your an old old lady then I have one foot in the grave. But like a fine wine ...blah blah blah.

gazza, Thursday, 28 November 2002 19:54 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't care if it's freaking Thanksgiving. I'm bored. Somebody post something. Feh.

kate, Thursday, 28 November 2002 19:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Jody odds are on that you're like five years younger than me, and I'm the youngest man on the planet, so take heart

J0hn Darn13ll3 (J0hn Darn13ll3), Thursday, 28 November 2002 20:41 (twenty-three years ago)

The secret is that John is actually still a zygote.

Off to a friend's parents' place shortly for dinner, rah. So I guess I am doing something!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 28 November 2002 21:24 (twenty-three years ago)

i am older than you all but no one can tell

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 28 November 2002 23:06 (twenty-three years ago)

I just got back from dinner at Curry in a Hurry. Yum. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

M Matos (M Matos), Friday, 29 November 2002 01:16 (twenty-three years ago)

I love that place!

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 29 November 2002 02:48 (twenty-three years ago)

No family around me anymore, which makes it very difficult to stuff my face endlessly with food others have cooked. Suppose I could cook for myself, but that just wouldn't be right...not on Thanksgiving.

B, Friday, 29 November 2002 02:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Turducken + stuffing + okra + sweet potatoes + cornbread + macaroni & cheese + green beans + black eyed peas + pumpkin pie + Detroit Lions + singing along to Roy Acuff with my sisters on the way home + watching tv + loosening your belt + more goddamn macaroni and more goddamn pumpkin pie = Happy Thanksgiving! (come back Barry Sanders - all is forgiven!)

James Blount (James Blount), Friday, 29 November 2002 03:10 (twenty-three years ago)

dang i want to come to james' house next thanksgiving!!

ron (ron), Friday, 29 November 2002 04:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Hah! Barry Sanders.......hah!

B, Friday, 29 November 2002 04:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, my team lost. I've been a pessimistic sort of fan ever since the end of the Joe Gibbs era, but really, ten straight losses to Dallas ! it's just not right ! How Spurrier can run such a pass-happy offense & expect to win while changing QBs every other week, is beyond me, but Stephen Davis wasn't getting anywhere either.

I had some nice turkey + potatoes + stuffing + pumpkin pie and all, even if some of it was cooked by Cowboys fans.

Please explain turducken to me. I think I read about it once in some article (NYT?) where the author went to Louisiana in search of.. boudin, maybe.

daria g, Friday, 29 November 2002 05:26 (twenty-three years ago)

woah, who invented the turducken?

ron (ron), Friday, 29 November 2002 05:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey Jody, haven't you heard that you don't know how young you are? The old reasoning, which involves a preoccupation with objects, appears to someone using the new reasoning, as childishly unsane.

I keep thinking I'm really old too. Sometimes when I get to hug a boy, I think lasciviously 'Ha ha! I fooled you!' As if these days I have to use 'trickery'!

maryann (maryann), Friday, 29 November 2002 05:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Turducken is a wonderful Cajun concoction which is often said to be a "turkey that ate a duck that ate a chicken." It's actually just a boneless turkey stuffed with a duck stuffed with a chicken, with stuffings and dressings and whatever else you might find in a Cajun recipe book. Absolutely the best if you can find a 'real' Cajun to cook you one.

B, Friday, 29 November 2002 06:00 (twenty-three years ago)

pie-pie

geeta (geeta), Friday, 29 November 2002 06:09 (twenty-three years ago)

i used to drive friends by barry sander's house in rochester, he had the worst lawn in the neighbourhood. i am not sure why i did this, maybe i was a stalker. i knew where vladimir konstantinov and keith primeau lived too, had to do with work back then.

joey harrington needs to continue to throw interceptions so morninwheg gets canned and then next year he leads them to the super bowl.

keith (keithmcl), Friday, 29 November 2002 18:52 (twenty-three years ago)
