Clues By Sam: daily Guess Who x Minesweeper logic game

You try to identify a 4x5 grid of people as either criminals or innocents using pure logic, and random guessing is expressly disallowed (i.e. any attempt at IDing someone needs to be categorically supported by the available clues).

Easiest games of the week are on Mondays, and even though I still make dumb mistakes, the puzzles are a lot less infuriating than the NYT dailies can be.

This is a fun game, a friend put me onto it a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah, I've been playing this daily along with my redactle and semantle rituals. The hard ones can get really hard, imo.

I do this alongside Catfishing and Bracket City when I'm in a puzzle frame of mind. Keep forgetting about Redactor.

love this game, followed the link someone here posted about (in the wordle thread I think)

symsymsym, Saturday, 7 February 2026 00:23 (two weeks ago)

Catfishing looks rad, thanks for the tip!

Major Kirascuro (Leee), Saturday, 7 February 2026 22:26 (two weeks ago)

Been playing Clues daily for a while and it's still fun but I think it will be the daily game I get sick of first. Lot of days feel similar in strategy, though now and then there will be a wickedly tough puzzle to humble me

Vinnie, Saturday, 7 February 2026 22:40 (two weeks ago)

Evil difficulty ahoy, and my first time getting a perfect solve on it.

Major Kirascuro (Leee), Sunday, 15 February 2026 06:53 (one week ago)

I used one clue but didn't feel it was as evil as evil usually gets

Vinnie, Sunday, 15 February 2026 12:09 (one week ago)

Didn't feel too tough but I still made a couple of mistakes.

Not Clues By Sam, but ever since Ailsa mentioned Catfishing I've become obsessed. The stats records are particularly good; I love the way the list of your most-obscure correct answers gives a little insight into your life and interests:

(let's see if hiding an image works, if not then sorry for potential answer spoilers)

emil.y, Sunday, 15 February 2026 17:11 (one week ago)

Wow at all your < 10% gets! I only managed one so far, and only because I marked it right because I didn't spell it correctly (Ionescu instead of Ionesco).

Major Kirascuro (Leee), Sunday, 15 February 2026 17:36 (one week ago)

Oof, don't they usually prompt you with the right answer if you're only a letter out? Maybe that doesn't work if you only put the surname? I've only marked two 'close enough' - they were both b/c I was lazy and didn't put in enough info (one regnal number that I did know, one incomplete quote b/c I thought the first part would be enough). I maybe could have allowed myself a couple more but don't want to be too lax about it.

I've only played one of the lowest-scoring days so far, and I got 9/10! Iirc it was down to most of the answers being either Brit-centric or artsy fartsy.

emil.y, Sunday, 15 February 2026 17:46 (one week ago)

I just got 3 right today that were under 10%.

Oooh, there were four under 10% when I played just now and I only got one of them - I thought my guesses for the others were okay but I knew they wouldn't be right: no, it wasn't Copland, von Bingen or the Prado.

emil.y, Friday, 20 February 2026 16:49 (three days ago)

Hah I my first thought was also Hildegard but I knew she wasn't English so I went with Heloise but I apparently forgot that she was French.

Anyhow, the ones I did get were Ives, El Escorial, and Hiroshima.

Major Kirascuro (Leee), Friday, 20 February 2026 17:46 (three days ago)

Also, what's the difference between the Score and Number Correct toggles?

Major Kirascuro (Leee), Friday, 20 February 2026 17:48 (three days ago)

bringing this back to clues by sam - found today's rather easy? got it in under 6 minutes with no mistakes/hints

donna rouge, Sunday, 22 February 2026 18:46 (yesterday)

Perfect solve for me too but I needed 9 minutes, I'm always pretty slow.
