My mum had to meet the archbishop the other week. The trick to dealing with bishops is to fill them full of sherry and then ask them when you are going to get your own parish. I wonder if archbishops are any different.

Archbishops get together in conclaves and decide theological policy, so he/she (depending on if said Archbishop is Catholic or Protestant) might be the best person to ask.

This is what my mum wrote back:

there are certainly female bishops. before the man we now have in vermont in maine in boston in various other places. there are only two archbishps in uk neither is female. the us has a presiding bishop as head honcho.

So I guess it would have been correct to say "he might be the best person to ask".
