I have no money. Suggestions of presents to give people I know plz.

The first person to whine about either the commercialisation of Christmas or how this thread is three weeks too early will get furry porn / Calvin And Hobbes fan-fiction / an HILARIOUS redirection to goatse.cx.

I once heard of somebody who wrote a poem on nice paper and drew nice pictures around it and gave it to a relative for Christmas (I can't remember if they framed it - that would put the price up, I guess). Craft, generally, is cheap. Also shoplifting (this would serve the shops right for starting Christmas so darned early... oops).

I don't do Xmas.

I just don't. That whole gift-giving thing? Fucking hate it. Yeah, you can call me a grinch and say I'm selfish, but fuck it, I AM selfish.

The FOOD, however... Xmas is all about food. Mmmm. Except my veggie friends are GOING AWAY FOR XMAS!!! Whatever shall I do to prevent Ed and Suzy chasing me around the flat with turkey or ham or something equally gross? I want my nutroast and I want it now.

food gifts are pretty cheap and nice to give ie: selections of jams in those wee jars, interesting sauces etc.

one year i had fuck-all money so i cut up bits of leather into shapes of leaves, put them in baskets with small soaps and other 'smellies' and that was what everyone got. pretty lame, yeah.

i have also made 'gift tokens' with the offer to do 'chores' or favours ie: gardens or housework for those with no time to do stuff, and sometimes when totally broke i have said " ok look sorry but i have no money, so no gifts, but i love you and merry christmas! so lets drink this wine i found in your cupboard :-) "

I don't think Christmas is commercialised enough. Get rid of that antiquated religious element!

i'm making most of my presents for my friends this year. notebooks maybe (but those take a LONG time to make nicely), purses, origami, mix cds, etc. (i am not posting any of my really good ideas here in case my friends see and fail to be surprised.)

Cookies are easy. Make shortbread -- there's not many ingredients, it'd be cinchy for anyone to make.

Is furry porn pics of anthropomorphic animals getting it on?

anyway, the commercialisation of what should be a festival about loving god really annoys me.

Yes. Either that or people with body paint.
