From the Wordle thread:

Yeah, I've vaguely been doing Parseword for a week so. As someone who *hates* that I never quite got good enough at interpreting at such clues, framing as it educative was a smart move. Though in reality it may be the least efficient means of teaching anything in the entire history of mankind.

Yeah, I kinda feel the same way about cryptics. This puzzle might help with it, but idk. I've done the tutorials, and played the last two days. Just figured if the Worldle and Connections puzzles have their own threads, this one was bound to get its own.

(Sorry for the dumb thread title, feel free to rename)

Also, is anyone doing Parseword?

Initial write ups made me think it might be some unique new take on it, but it really is just stand-alone cryptic crossword clues with a 'fancy' online interface for solving them.

I do enjoy it though. I can never finish an entire cryptic crossword myself, so this single clue format at least gives me some daily satisfaction.

I was at the laundromat today while working on it. My time made me feel like I was truly at the top of the bell curve. IDK why it still says "Learn Mode" since I haven't done tutorials for days now

there's different modes available in the settings, with fewer hints (definition, word length).

Took me over 6 minutes today if that's any consolation naus.

It's very variable for me in terms of difficulty - it can be a few seconds reasonably often, then others its like this one that take me 5 mins plus. Mostly I hover around a minute I think, but it doesn't seem to track that in stats.

four months pass...

Reached a 150 day streak today.

I enjoy the game a lot (obviously, given the above). The difficulty of the clues feels well judged to me - through the week it's generally easy enough for a quick lunchtime distraction, then it usually ramps up quite significantly at the weekend. I find Sundays tend to really stump me, sometimes for most or even all of the day.

I remember that the mechanics of using it felt complicated at first, but now I think it's very neatly done.

Does anyone else play it regularly?

Yeah, I’m at 133 as of today. I’ve since gotten the hang of it, and most day I can manage a perfect + secret found in under a minute or two. But yeah I’ve been stumped on a few of them (like you, usually Sundays) where I’ve had to get multiple assists.

Greek Chorus Pedal (naus), Monday, 10 August 2026 23:48 (three days ago)

Very similar for me. I'm usually able to get the secret and a perfect solve in about the same time as yourself most days (1-2 mins, occasionally quicker), then at the weekends it can take me a while longer. I only go for assists as a very last resort, preferring to spend all day thinking about it and only using them if I'm truly stuck and getting nowhere, which has happened on at least a couple of Sundays in the last month or so.
