why would someone do that to me?

i have no enemies that i know of, i keep to myself, and i have no exes or anything like that. i've not fallen out with anyone. but last year someone called the fire brigade to my house three times. i thought it had all stopped until the other day, a pizza turned up that i never ordered, my name, my address.

it seems that whoever it is is trying to say "haha, firemen on strike, you get a pizza". i just don't get it. what would you do? i just want to know who and why :(

whoever it is has a big grudge, it seems, because although pizza is nothing, hoax calling the fire service to my home is just plain wrong. but i've not wronged anyone. aaaaarggghhh.

i'd mch prefer it if this cowardly motherfucker would turn up in person.

so what do i do? :(

i dont know what you mean, but thanks.

what's on the pizza?

It's hard to imagine, though it certainly sounds distressing. It's not just that it's a nuisance to you, false fire calls are a much bigger issue. Without knowing who it is, what can you do? Can the emergency services not trace where deliberate false alarms come from?

I like pizza.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 30 November 2002 12:50 (twenty-three years ago)

the fire boys always traced the call to a phone box quite nearby. the pizza guy didn't bother tracing the call :)

i didnt ask what kind of pizza it was, i was too shaken :/

i like pizza too. but i turned it away. looking back, i should've just paid - i hadn't had any dinner, and it would be like the antagonist would actually be helping me out had i eaten it. ah well, i wasn't thinking like that at the time.

When I was in the sixth grade some friends of mine used to do this to random people in their neighborhood. All the time. They'd hide behind some bushes and watch the pizza delivery guy go up to the door and the return to his car, pie still in hand. Then they'd go call up the person for whom they'd ordered the pizza and say "Mmmm....pizza...."

So my point is never discount the possibility that it's just some preadolescent kids, to whom all adults in distress are a rich source of humor.

I wish someone sent me a pizza. I'm hungry!

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Saturday, 30 November 2002 19:06 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah, i think they love you, not hate you! yummy pizza

ron (ron), Saturday, 30 November 2002 19:08 (twenty-three years ago)

if they really loved you they'd have paid for it first over the phone...

michael (michael), Saturday, 30 November 2002 20:27 (twenty-three years ago)

i used to play this prank as an undergrad ... only i'd order whole meals (manicotti, ziti, stuffed shells as well as pizza) and have them delivered to suckers.

Tad (llamasfur), Saturday, 30 November 2002 20:33 (twenty-three years ago)

pizza is one things but yeah, hoax fire brigade calls are pretty bad.
you dont have anyone that might possibly be a 'spurned lover'? someone you rejected or something?
dont pizza places ask for your phone unmber when you order? they do here so they can call back and check if they want and any repeat hoaxes mean no more pizza for you! my point is, if they do get the number what one are they given? if its yours then who has your number?

i dont know about local teenagers playing tricks, i mean, why would they keep doing it to YOU? does anyone else in your street have this happen?

i hate this kind of thing when it keeps recurring. it is annoying, stupid and yes i agree it is cowardly.

donna (donna), Saturday, 30 November 2002 20:52 (twenty-three years ago)

It sounds like kids. As for Donna's question ("why would they keep doing it to YOU?") maybe you've got some kind of reputation. Moaning at some kid just once in the past might have made you an eternal target. Maybe you've got long hair or something and are therefore a freak. Who knows? You must move house, quickly.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Saturday, 30 November 2002 21:27 (twenty-three years ago)

NO dont move house its too fucking stressful!

donna (donna), Saturday, 30 November 2002 21:31 (twenty-three years ago)

hehehe. no, nothing like that. i'm 100% sure.

i dont know about local teenagers playing tricks, i mean, why would they keep doing it to YOU? does anyone else in your street have this happen?

i dont think so. i dont really know anyone else in my street.

maybe you've got some kind of reputation.

i dont have a reputation. like i said, i keep to myself. i barely know anybody.

Maybe you've got long hair or something and are therefore a freak.

aw. maybe. i dont think it's kids. this is why it's so confusing. i really cant think why anyone would do it. i'm not exaggerating when i say i don't go anywhere or meet anyone, let alone piss people off. and this is because i want to AVIOD trouble. i guess it just follows me around :/

and it's put me off ordering pizza :(

g-kit (g-kit), Monday, 2 December 2002 09:16 (twenty-three years ago)

See, it seems like the thing to do would be to order pizza for someone who doesn't want it, and then when the pizza guy is going back to his car, be standing around saying 'Oh, is that going back? I'll give you $5 for it.' You get a cheap pizza, the pizza guy gets money in the pocket that he would not have gotten otherwise, everyone's happy. So maybe someone was using you to get a deal on a pizza. Hell, I might even do this now.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 2 December 2002 11:26 (twenty-three years ago)

well, i hope they fucking choke on it.

g-kit (g-kit), Monday, 2 December 2002 11:35 (twenty-three years ago)

two years pass...
self-indulgent revive!

i never got to the bottom of this. i have since moved house, and nothing like this has happened since.

am i victorious? or does the fact that i never found out who the culprit was render me a LOSER?

i still think about it from time to time though. still absolutely clueless as to the perp or their motives. ho hum.
