Do you ever scratch something (anything?) when you know you shouldn't?

I had an itchy eye on Saturday morning, and rubbed and itched at it until it went really red. It wouldn't have much mattered, except this weekend was the first my girlfriend was spending at my place, so I felt very annoyed with myself.

ESPECIALLY when I know I shouldn't. This is stupid though, because it's the road to scarring, and I scar just like THAT.

I find often that if I focus hard on the itch, it'll dissipate, a phenomenon not unlike repeating a word to oneself until it loses all itchiness.
