Anyone have a good hat?

I got an awful haircut yesterday. My hair had been fairly long, and my mother and I constantly battle over this whenever I go home for the holidays. While in VA for Thanksgiving, I agreed to get my hair trimmed by Linda, my mom's best friend and the woman who usually cuts my hair. Linda came to our house to cut it. Beforehand she asked what I wanted. "A trim," I said. "How about I cut it short?" she asked. "No," I reply. Fifteen minutes later I go to a mirror to see what the finished product looks like and MY HAIR IS ALL GONE! She then profusely apologized while my mom was giddy with glee upon seeing it. I think there was some underhandedness here.

Also: My ears are now really cold.

oh no! oh no, oh no, OH NO!!! yancey's cute garageboy hair is GONE?!!? oh, alas, alack, this is terrible news.

last time i got an awful haircut, i searched high and low until i finally found a cute keith richards style cap in camden market. three months later, everyone from britney spears to anastasia were wearing them. poo! by that time i had invested in a wig of my former hair.

Though I believe that a "beanie" is the Californian term for knit stocking caps.

(In more hair news: My 6-year-old brother Dylan now has a mullet. This is because he loves the new Star Wars movies and wants to look like Anakin (sp?), thus having a long braid going down his back. I talked to him about this, asking if he was prepared to wait his entire life to have a proper braid. He said he was. I then asked if this would make him a Jedi. He gave me a dirty look, then said, "Of course." Also, Dylan will be a rock star (seriously). He's 6 years old and can play the guitar (he has a kid-sized Strat), listens to music constantly (his favorite song is "Come Together") and is mega-mega-mega cute. He gets in trouble at school because girls keep kissing him, not the other way around. A girl in his first-grade class confessed to my stepmother: "I can't help it. He's so cute!")

(He wrote a song about grabbing onto a balloon, which pulled him into the air. On one of the clouds he met Jesus, and He said "Hey" to Dylan. (and at this point Dylan was only 4 and most likely had no idea who Jesus was, so His name could be substituted to Alvin or something to equal effect). It was a really good song!)

were in you in virginia for thanksgiving? we had a fap in DC! did you see the mentions of it while it was in the works?

NoVa isn't Virginia! I grew up outside of Blacksburg, which is 4+ hours away, so attendance wasn't a real possibility.

I have a skinny head, so baseball hats are never really an option. Another way out of a bad 'do is too just style the hell out of it. Spike it up, slick it back, whatever. Your hair is pretty straight, so you can pretty much do anything. Also, it is winter, so you can wear a hood or skull cap or something. Oh, you could get an Enrique hat!

"NoVa isn't Virginia!"

Oh no Aaron, you unknowingly walked right into the vitriol that Yancey espews when faced with any part of the state that is not his beloved Blacksburg!

I got all of my hair cut off (people said I looked like John Travolta or Jim Morrison) last May and hated it so much that i wore a hooded sweatshirt. Nobody, not even my bassplayer or my mum knew that I'd cut my hair until 2 days later. Every night until my hair grew back to it's full splendor I dreamt about having long hair again...so sad.....
I have two 'beanies' that i liek to wear when it's not excessively hot...one is an American flag with a bright blue pom on the top, the other is my work hat..a puke orange snot green and piss yellow beanie that says 'Let's be Friends' around the middle.

make sure to eschew the flat cap in favor of the knit cap (beanie?), unless you want that "freshly stepped out of The Face/Sleazenation" look. hopefully you don't.

Hats hate me. They leap out my hands and try to drown themselves.
