ok, make me feel like a big fat dummie here. i know it's been a long time since i searched for a job, but...

i'm looking for jobs involving data management with access or sql server, and it keeps asking for SAS, whatever that is.

what the heck is SAS Database? i am being totally stupid, or is it another name for something i already know, or has the IT technology really changed that much in the year and a half i've been out of it?

there's nothing like looking for a job to make you feel totally stupid and incompetent...

I've need heard of it until you mentioned it, but it appears to be a brand name: SAS. You can find out what SAS stands for here. Good luck with the job hunt.

good god, looks complicated. anything that claims to be not a software, not a language, but a way of life... yeurgh. wonder if it's worth getting proper training in it, or if i can just pick it up from a book and a few hours on the job like i've done with every other technical programming skill i've ever needed...

They've got some tutorials on their site. Yeurgh indeed.

it doesn't actually look that difficult. looks kinda like a cleaned-up, more programmer friendly version of sql server... mind you, i'm only half way through the tutorial...
