A la recherche de shampoo perdu

Last night the past burned bright when I took a sniff of my new Schwartzkoff shampoo. I don't know what perfume agent it was but it was so evocative I am tempted to buy loads and loads of shampoos in a quest for lost childhood. I bet that smelling that eggy-coloured one in the opaque cylindrical bottle with the monochromatic drawing of the long flowing hair would do terrible things to me.

Have you had any good throwback moments with toiletries lately?

I find this picture strangely poignant.

Using Pantene shampoo (flatmate's girlfriends - sorry Ciow) for the first time in years made me think of visiting my friend Leann in Wales age 14. A perfect mental image of the view of the mountains.

...although having said that, the girl in front of me on the bus yesterday morning had clearly used body shop banana shampoo/conditioner which i used to use and reminded me of college...

Every time I smell Narcisse perfume I am transported to a straw hut in Greece. Literalists, don't bother.

Blimey Jerry is that Disney merchandise?

WHenever I do the washing up I get whicked back to my tiny childhood when my mum used to wash my hair with it. It was grebt.

Nick, in the U.S. they've brought back Breck Goldenhair shampoo, of Brady Bunch fame, and they're advertising it exactly this way: "When I first used it that clean fresh scent just sent me back!"

Ah, Ns.'s is nothing but supersoft. Now we now he gets it that way.

Every now and then my old music teacher walks past, but I think it's hardcore perfume rather than shampoo. It fucking reeks whatever it is.

There's some kind of shampoo or shower gel or both that gives me some kind of déjà vu thing, but I don't know why. Comes in a black bottle. Perhaps it's because it epitomises a peculiarly seventies idea of glamour and sophistication (The Two Ronnies followed by pub, probably).

When I read this thread I tried to remember what kind of shampoo i use...all i can come up with is green...I know it's green, that's it...strange....I can see the bottle in my head, I know what it looks like, I know what it smells like, I've been using it for years......but all I can remember is green.

My current shampoo makes me nostalgic for my old Strawberry Shortcake dolls.

Maja from Spain, inexpensive and easily obtained at CV$ in the US. It reminds me of something my mother would keep in a drawer for evenings out. I use the shower gel every day, and their soft, exotic body powder ought to be illegal. I'm really picky about toiletries and try to get mine at a discount from places like Marshalls. That way you can get $20 or $30 weird salon stuff for eight bucks or less.
