London Venues

Anyone know any good venues for hire in london? Some friends of mine are thinking of putting on a small club night (probably not more than 100 people). We don't have much money (and we don't expect to make a profit, though we want to do a repeat for charity), and we've never done this before. Anywhere that can stay open to a reasonable time and possibly has places for people to sit down?

Mark C to thread.

Try the Betsy Trotwood pub (Farringdon) - upstairs room not too skanky.

I need the same thing for a certain party early in the new year. The Betsey is the favourite so far.

Liz, if I knew the answer to the question I'd be a happy man! Hmm, it's a tricky one. I am no longer welcome at Bar Oporto, where we used to have Tigermilkings - the downstairs room has a capacity of 90, you can hire a PA and decks, etc., and there's a bar down there too. It's not all bad, and about £170 to hire.

Other places, hmm, I can barely remember. Under Solo in Camden is a great venues, a fair bit bigger (maybe 200 capacity?) but it has lots of sitting space as well s a good area for bands to perform.

I'd probably go for the Betsey, though. Bring chairs.

Why are you no longer welcome at Bar Oporto? Did the B&S kidz get rowdy and puke all over the place?
