(and they improved it by upping the freckley ginger person count, yay!)

I, uh, actually quite enjoyed it. I'm not quite sure why.
The new Barry Norman, oh yes. (You may make the obvious jokes but they are vastly unfair to Jonathan Ross.)
Was it a remake of something oooold or is my mother confused? (I must start a thread in the hope Robin or Jerry or Mark S will tell me whether another recent claim of my mother's is true but it is so bizarre I fear I would never live it down in the fairly likely event that my mother just imagined it.)

The Parent Trap" story is based on a popular German children's book called "Das Doppelte Lottchen" by Eric Kastner, published in 1950. In 1953, the first English version, titled "Twice Upon a Time," was made in London. This led to the popular 1961 Disney movie "The Parent Trap," starring Hayley Mills.
In 1986, Disney made a television movie, "The Parent Trap II." Hayley Mills starred as a grown-up twin whose daughter tries to spark a romance between her mom and her best friend's dad.
In 1989, another television movie, "The Parent Trap III," told the tale of triplets trying to get their single father to marry the "right" woman. The same year, Disney also produced "The Parent Trap Hawaiian Honeymoon," in which the triplets join their now-married father in Hawaii.
Milk that franchise dry.

I guess scientists might do this too. Didn't they remake this with Michael Keaton and call it Multiplicity.

From the original German movie, which was also pretty terrific.
