snorting / blowing your nose in the shower

my new flatmate does this, i can hear him in there hooting away. its pretty revolting, i remember my sister-in-law also used to do it when she lived with us and i thought eeeeewwwwwwwwww then too.
do you do it? WHY?

I used to cough up phlem in the shower as a ritual. I also used to smoke. The two were related.

I admit I do this occasionally, the steam in the shower seems to unclog my sinuses. Still I don't do it if there's anyone else in the house that might hear me.
