Does anyone else constantly worry that their partner will be killed in a car accident? I mean, i do. Every time he leaves if worry. Why? Hes not answering his phone. Does that mean hes switched it off or hes dead? I can't sleep thinking about it. I can't get in touch with him and he lives 36 miles away. I could phone one of his friends... but it's 10 past twelve [at night]. Am i mad?

I have this with my son. Every last thing that he does worries me from the physical risk point of view. He's having four teeth removed tomorrow and I'm dreading it.

Yes. Not constantly, but close.

I'm always afraid that I'm going to be killed in a car accident. I literally have to close my eyes sometimes and repeat to myself: "The driver knows what he's doing. The driver knows what he's doing..." On the other hand, actually being hit by a car while I'm walking, or having to jump out of the way to avoid being hit doesn't phase me in the slightest. (Both of those things have happened in the past week.)

I worry about my partner being killed in a car accident everytime he is on the road. Why? Because he insists on driving a little sports car without airbags, etc., that would crumple to nothing on impact. And, to top it all off, he's your typical "Absent-minded Professor"-type, who sometimes forgets to shift, drives past the house (and sometimes the neighborhood) while lost in thought, never uses turn-signals, cranks-up the music to a defeaning level, and so forth. Scares the hell out of me. I am pushing for a nice boxy Volvo as his next vehicle. He says I worry too much.
