― OleM (OleM), Monday, 6 January 2003 07:29 (twenty-two years ago)
71 deg F (!) = 22 deg C
the high tomorrow is expected to be 84F/28Cthis is due to Santa Ana winds from inland (as opposed to cold winds from offshore)

This year, it's dropped near freezing repeatedly, but yeah, with that wind coming off the water and that humidity, it feels like it's 15 F out. Dropping off movies today, a block away, I was as cold as I've been in six years, including Christmases spent in New Hampshire. This is why I -left- New England, dammit.

have had the central heating on for over 7 hours today. Keeping reasonably warm at home never used to feel so decadent + agitating back in the normal days.

It's cold for London, put it that way. Anyway, at last I can break out the winter wardrobe, hurrah!

It lightly snowed here today (brief accumulation on the grass, slick streets but nothing else on the roads) and the high was expected to reach 30 F, so it was pretty chilly, but not as cold as it could be this time of year.
― We Live as We Dee, Alone (deethelurker), Wednesday, 20 November 2024 22:50 (ten months ago)
It snowed heavily in Oxford for an hour yesterday morning. It was beautiful to sit in bed and watch through the window. It melted quickly, which seemed ideal. I've got a drive north ahead (to see friends/a gig) and Britain isn't really set up for *weather*.
― djh, Wednesday, 20 November 2024 23:02 (ten months ago)
In the mid-40s Farenheit. it's been a bit chillier than what's average for mid-November in Portland. It's the never-ending damp and heavy overcast that makes it feel worse than it is. Not complaining, though. That part is perfectly average for mid-November here.

Fifty degrees in New England. Seasonal! Finally getting some rain after a bone-dry stretch.
― henry s, Thursday, 21 November 2024 16:48 (ten months ago)
I've been checking my weather app since last night, and it has consistently displayed a high/low range in the 40s for today, buuuuuuut has also been displaying a temp of 30-31 all morning long (and a realfeel of fuckin' 19, which I could've guessed as I made my inappropriately-dressed way to work). They finally updated the expected snow accumulation from 0.0 inches to 0.1. There has to be at least 3-4 inches of snow on the ground right now with no sign of the snowfall abating. Just threw my phone straight in the trash, btw. An overreaction, perhaps, but it felt right.
― Great-Tasting Burger Perceptions (Old Lunch), Thursday, 21 November 2024 16:51 (ten months ago)
Ha, yeah, an app I use says to expect 1 to 2 inches in total all day, but we're already close to double that and the app also says to expect 4-5 more hours of "heavy snow". Get yer shit together folks.
― Maxmillion D. Boosted (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Thursday, 21 November 2024 16:59 (ten months ago)
Yeah, I just had to drive back from Naperville in almost whiteout conditions! And now I have to shovel. Or at least I should.
