I've got terrible posture, but there's not much else to say beyond that, is there? (Next meta-thread: Who on ILX last clipped his/her fingernails?)

Justyn Dillingham (Justyn Dillingham), Monday, 6 January 2003 19:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I have pretty bad posture, I look about 2 inchs shorter than I actually am. I pretty much walk like Shaggy.

Fuck you, dude! ;-) You could talk about resultant anguish, or how conscious you are of it. My posture is potentially self-destructive.

I have *terrible* posture - not even my closest friends can believe that I'm actually six feet tall.

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 6 January 2003 20:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Aimed at JD Salinger, of course.

And a purpose for this thread is being gained via representative majority, JD!

You're six feet tall?!

sundar subramanian (sundar), Monday, 6 January 2003 20:02 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, I get the same sorta comments Mark P! I'm like 6 foot 1 really!

jel -- (jel), Monday, 6 January 2003 20:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Every thread I post to eventually turns into a JD Salinger thread (or a insert shouty girl band here thread) (or a meta-meta thread).

It might cause me some anguish if I were more aware of it, but I don't think I have any reasonable idea of what NORMAL posture is like. Maybe I need to join the army or something.

:(

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 6 January 2003 20:13 (twenty-two years ago)

You seemed like a giant compared to me mark.

Kim (Kim), Monday, 6 January 2003 20:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I get exactly the same comments as jel and mark. I am dead on 6 foot too.

I also work/browse at my PC for up to 7 hours a day sitting on the edge of my bed. I wince at the thought of what it's doing to me.

Mark C (Mark C), Monday, 6 January 2003 20:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I've spent the last two weeks sitting cross legged in front of an immovable laptop. It's not fun.

I haven't clipped my fingernails in a very long time.

Graham (graham), Monday, 6 January 2003 22:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't need to clip my fingernails, unless biting counts as clipping. One is down to 3mm.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 6 January 2003 22:15 (twenty-two years ago)

being barely over five feet, i try very hard to improve my posture, because i really don't need to look shorter than i am. i wouldn't nominate myself for best though because it's not great. you tall people are so lucky....

Maria (Maria), Monday, 6 January 2003 22:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I often rest my head on my shin, so I'd say that my posture isn't quite up to scratch.

Curtis Stephens, Monday, 6 January 2003 22:21 (twenty-two years ago)

but your flexibility must be amazing! i can make my head touch my shin but it sure isn't resting.

Maria (Maria), Monday, 6 January 2003 22:24 (twenty-two years ago)

i reckon i have the best posture on ilx. drama teachers are always impressed with the way i walk.

di smith (lucylurex), Monday, 6 January 2003 22:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm way flexible!

jel -- (jel), Monday, 6 January 2003 22:44 (twenty-two years ago)

You seemed like a giant compared to me mark.

A friendly one, I hope..

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 6 January 2003 23:03 (twenty-two years ago)

oh definitely! =)

Kim (Kim), Monday, 6 January 2003 23:04 (twenty-two years ago)

How would one go about improving their posture, anyway? It's such an in-built thing. I mean, short of thinking about it all the time...

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 6 January 2003 23:04 (twenty-two years ago)

losing weight works great for me, for um fairly obvious reasons.

Kim (Kim), Monday, 6 January 2003 23:07 (twenty-two years ago)

i own this thread. i was told i have minor scoliosis.

one of my nicknames in 6th grade was "hunchback" - for realz
