the house i spent the first few years of my life in (1915 Westholme, a half mile east of the Mormon Temple in west LA) is featured prominently. i loved the film at the time and haven't seen it since.

I too really, really liked the film, and enjoyed the book. I haven't thought about it in ages, though, so I don't think it was really one of the most special films ever.
