underrated past-time: actively hating snow and shooting dirty looks at people who yammer on about how they love it because it's pretty or whatevah

c'mon out to Iowa where the snow falls four feet at a time and reduces road visibility to nil, turning cheerful native Californians like me into cranky bastards complaining about the weather :)

to be able to buy land on a salary that wouldn't buy government cheese back where I grew up :)

John, is there any snow in Iowa yet? In MN we haven't got any and it's still 40o. I feel like I'm Key West or something.

I suddenly remember an OT response: the 6' snowcockandballs. (Saw this on my 15th bday and was very excited to be growing up, since adulthood allowed you to DO that kind of thing on your lawn)

John, I went from London to Upstate NY (do the words lake effect mean anything to you?) but I did it at an age when loads of snow was an asset because it got us off school. If I'd done it later, when I realise that snow is something annoying that keeps you from getting where you need to go, I'd probably take your attitude.
