I remember as a child there being a smooth line of Grown-up Discussion in which it was noted that politicians were growing to be more and more physically like the most savage (Trog/Scarfe) of their poison-pen cartoonists.

Did anyone see Timewatch last night? Excerpts from Bomber Command memos presented in EXACTLY the same way as the "this is exactly what we didn't want to happen" bit in Brass Eye.

"Newsnight" has been the same as "Brass Eye" for AGES. Part of why we got rid of the telly. "Look at all these israeli wedding guests die".....er, no thanx, lamers....

I met Martha Kearney from Newsnight once. The political protest I was mounting wasn't reported on that evening's programme. Several minutes of pointless shots of the sea, surfers, these same surfers mumbling that Widdecombe's drug policy was stupid (yeah? tell us something we didn't know) and unbelievably, hilariously tricksy presentation was. Enough said.
