On a piece of paper attached to the console "Cigarette smoke cause damage to your console!"

What doesn't cigarette smoke cause damage to. Cripes. Just thought I would share that.

Vice City is their #1 game and they've turned into a bunch of moralists!

I basically did Yancey. With all the smoking I do when I played it, the thing was a walking cigarette.

You've taken 7 years off its life. Time to get a Gamecube.

It's totally true, though. "Smoke" = solid particles = terrible ashy dust that gets on and in things, particularly things with cooling fans blowing through them. This can be a significant issue with computers, which will just physically clog up with the most awful unnatural smoke-dust imaginable.

That is why many radio stations won't let DJs smoke while they're in the studio.

Did it really say 'cause' and not 'causes'? Was it repaired by a cantankerous Chinese man?

Cigarette smoke (ass-tons of it) certainly did in the PS2 belonging to my former roommate. That bitch went straight kaput like a motherfucker about six months after I moved in (he smoked salem lights, I smoked gas station cigars and camel filters).

A standard PC has a lot more room inside for particles to settle w/o causing harm. The PS2, having all its components jammed tightly together and generating a good deal of heat, probably tends to suffer more.
