The prog. that invented (maybe, probably not though) the genre vs that other one. Bollocks to them!

Sister Sister as I can still remember the theme tune, whereas My Two Dads = meh.

Bring back Blossom, that's what I say.

Sarah (starry), Friday, 10 January 2003 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

My Two Dads -- is it OBVIOUS?

It's all about the Evigan.

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 10 January 2003 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, Blossom. Whatever happened to her? And was her eldest brother actually her real life eldest brother, cos they had the same nose?

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 10 January 2003 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Its one step from mentioning Blossom to talking about Six....

M2D - obv.

Pete (Pete), Friday, 10 January 2003 15:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Six had one of those faces that was just utterly undefinable though, I couldn't tell if she was attractive or ugly or even plain, she just had that fucking hat on all the time.

I liked Blossom a great deal more when she grew tits. I'm such a bloke.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 10 January 2003 15:47 (twenty-two years ago)

PAUL REISER!!

Mark C (Mark C), Friday, 10 January 2003 19:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmm. I don't remember My Two Dads very well (aside from Evigan), but Sister was always rank. Particularly the original opening credits, which featured the words "WE LOOK ALIKE, BUT REALLY WE'RE DIFFERENT!" in horrid wiggly neon lettering, which spoilt the plot of every single episode.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 10 January 2003 19:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Bizarrely, I remember My Two Dads very vividly (Paul Reiser was much the best thing about it), but don't recall Sister Sister at all, not even vaguely.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 10 January 2003 20:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I went to high school with the girl from My Two Dads. We used to "hang out"!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 10 January 2003 20:19 (twenty-two years ago)

"hang out" = "expose genitalia"

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 10 January 2003 20:20 (twenty-two years ago)

heh.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 10 January 2003 20:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Both of these are truly awful shows, but since Sister Sister is still shown on some channels to remind me of its awfulness, I choose My Two Dads.

Vinnie (vprabhu), Friday, 10 January 2003 20:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think I've heard of Sister Sister before. Is it British? I vaguely remember My Two Dads. Was the girl named Nicole? Why did she have 2 dads again? Blossom was classic though.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Friday, 10 January 2003 21:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Why do we talk about this when we could be talking about:

Proof of the nonexistence of god.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 10 January 2003 21:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah, a little more is coming back now. Poor Cory. I always felt for him.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Friday, 10 January 2003 21:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Although looking that over now, that premise is both a) fucking stupid and b) incredibly homoerotic. ". . . they only had room for one girl in their lives."

I don't know if I actually watched that show very much. Maybe I felt for a similar character in another show.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Friday, 10 January 2003 22:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I went to high school with the girl from My Two Dads. We used to "hang out"!

Did she ever talk about her days with The Evigan?

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 10 January 2003 22:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Sister Sister was American. I read ages ago on Channel 4 Teletext that the two twins from that show are studying to become lawyers!

I choose My Two Dads, simply for "the Evigan". Without him, we would have never seen Lee & Herring's "When Insects Attack".

"Nature is like your mother - she will tuck you up safely in bed at night, but just as you are falling asleep she will burst back into your room and attack you with a nail."

Chriddof (Chriddof), Friday, 10 January 2003 23:20 (twenty-two years ago)

She never really wanted to talk about the show(s), so I didn't really hear about Evigan. In fact I never watched the show which I'm sure didn't bother her. She was on Step by Step too.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 10 January 2003 23:35 (twenty-two years ago)

GIOVANNI RIBISI!?!?!? Like, whoa!

David R. (popshots75`), Saturday, 11 January 2003 00:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I suppose I will have to bother the chimp off BJ and the Bear for tales of The Evigan.

Nicole (Nicole), Saturday, 11 January 2003 00:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I did no "hanging out" with the chimp, sorry (and doubly sorry to Dan although I still expect him to make something of this statement).

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Saturday, 11 January 2003 00:50 (twenty-two years ago)

The changing of the lyrics of the sister sister theme tune over da yrs only slitely silly. "!Even tho i'm glad to b wit ya, i'm really fuckin independent, u gotta do wots rite 4 u cos yr all fuckin grown up and shit."

naked as sin (naked as sin), Saturday, 11 January 2003 02:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Get that Trek-fiend boy toy of yours to contact Shatner for tales. I'm sure Captain Kirk would love to talk about TekWar for once. ;-)
