I may not be very old but I seem to remember there being shoes that didn't look stupid in shops. I'm talking shoes and trainers here actually. I have acupuncures since they're the only shoes I don't think make me look like I go running or something but come on, all shoes look the same, its like an ickean conspiracy almost.

It's all these white trainers that get me. I think my girlfriend was going to get a pair. They're what neds wear! They're horrible! Especially those ones with the little bits coming out the sides, I mean what on earth is that all about eh? Nonsense.

I think things must be different in Scotland, Cabbage.

Myself, I haven't ever had a pair of white trainers because they look daft and get dirty so swiftly. Plus I wouldn't want to run the risk of looking like a "Ned", whatever they look like. (Surely you don't mean *our* Ned, AllyC?).

Having said that, I haven't had a pair of trainers at all for more than a decade.

Only I am allowed to get sick on my shoes. I bought new shoelaces for my oxfords the other night, well actually two weeks ago but anyhow, I took them out of the closet for the first time in ages and ages, since before new year's. Only to discover that there was still puke stuck to them from when I vomited all over myself from too many jello shots mixed with wine and blackberry brandy. Vintage puke, hello!

Er...China is about as communist these days as the US. Deng Xiaoping called quits to it in the late seventies and what has happened since is a political elite claiming to be communist for the purposes of maintaining power has essentially let capitalism run rampant, only with active government participation in a fair amount of said businesses. Allegedly the army had one hell of a line in technology companies and probably still does.

Blech, I hate Acupuncture. They just look like overdone crap skate shoes... unless they look like the highheeled sneaker version of a certain Fluevog. Certainly just as silly looking as those multilayered Nikes. The only shoes that look good in my opinion are normal unpretentious leather shoes, oldstyle Pumas and Adidas and pretty much all the New Balance and Asics Tigers aren't trying too hard with bits and bits of leather all over. I'm not too keen on some of these blue and orange NBs, though. If you're looking for something new and exciting... well, good luck. I bet you wind up with a dumbass looking shoe, though!

eight months pass...

I have pair of asics tigers. They are the second pair ive owned. The first i had when i was 12 they cost $12AUD the second i just purchased now at 32 they cos $165AUD. That an average of 88 odd bucks per pair. I think Ive done alright. Great Shoe.
