the writers were irish, lead actors were irish, but i think it was made and financed by a british company. there's enough irish input for it to be deemed irish, i think. i also vote for...emmmm...repeats of seinfeld on TV3!

the irish premiership coverage has great analysis. giles and dunphy are much better to watch than the bland itv crowd. they pull no punches.

bbc panel hella charming during world cup/rte only interestin if dunphy acts unpredictable + even that's of limited appeal.

bachelor's walk is quite good.

Batchelor's Walk was a first for Irish TV drama in that it featured real people for a change. The guy who plays Ray is just *terrible* though. To be fair, it's a good show but not as good as it's cracked up to be.

isn't Paths To Freedom meant to be the best Irish TV programme EVER?

DV (dirtyvicar), Sunday, 12 January 2003 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

no wait, Halls Pictorial Weekly. Well, that's what I'm told, anyway.

DV (dirtyvicar), Sunday, 12 January 2003 12:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Fortycoats and co.

Zig and Zag (the den in the golden days)

Podge and Rodge-A Scare At Bedtime

Father Ted

one year passes...
Paths To Freedom may actually be the best Irish light entertainment program, but if Father Ted was eligible, there'd be a hell of a gap between first and second. Unfortunately, that statement remains true if you replace "Father Ted" with "The Vicar of Dibley".

Ugh. You've successfully terrified me there.
