WB loves spin-offs I guess!

Oh sorry, here's your link, cause I know you want to go there!

Mary (Mary), Monday, 13 January 2003 19:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Jess: 'Dad, how could abandon me like that?'

Dad: 'Cuz your head was too big and I felt responsible.'

J: 'Whatever. I hate you. Dig my would-be Dylan pose.'

Andy, Monday, 13 January 2003 19:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I heart the mother on this show.

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 13 January 2003 20:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I forgot to tell you about this particular development, Mary. Jess' Dad lives in Venice or Santa Monica, I forget which one. So I expect lots of hot beach action! I heart Milo. I wonder who they'll get to play the Dad? I say they coax Michael Schoeffling from Sixteen Candles out of retirement.

Arthur (Arthur), Monday, 13 January 2003 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

If they do that, I could be convinced to watch.

(Ha ha, my friend B and I are constantly joking/threatening a road trip to PA to go find MS)

rosemary (rosemary), Monday, 13 January 2003 21:07 (twenty-two years ago)

So I expect lots of hot beach action!

Sort of a Baywatch/Gilmore Girls crossover, then?

Amateurist (amateurist), Monday, 13 January 2003 21:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Once again, it's all about jess. Let's hope he gets a wacky sidekick named ethan.

Nicole (Nicole), Monday, 13 January 2003 22:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Rory: "So are we still dating?"
Jess: "Lady, if you have to ask..."

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 13 January 2003 22:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Damnit, I thought it would be a Lane-related spinoff!

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 13 January 2003 22:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Episode 1: Discovery of the Trouser Press

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 13 January 2003 22:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Epidode 2: a blog is started.

Nicole (Nicole), Monday, 13 January 2003 22:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Episode 3: Tracks down Embrace the Herd. Plays "Public Girls" for underwhelmed Rory.

Amateurist (amateurist), Monday, 13 January 2003 22:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Episode 4: Kinko's holds all copies of the first issue of her 'zine in hock. She has to line up Stars Hallow for a quirky bakesale to buy them back.

Lane, Monday, 13 January 2003 23:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Arthur, how could you forget to pass along something of such tremendous importance?

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Title of show: Jess hates fun

Nicole (Nicole), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 00:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Gilmore Guys? Mariano Men? I hope his Dad has a big head too. If only Matt Damon were older and less successful.

Episode 5: Lane writes for Pitchfork. (Meets Nitsuh. Hottt indie luhv ensues.)

bnw (bnw), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 03:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry, I was away for a couple of days.

So Lane's indie cover band masquerade as a Christian rock group in upcoming episodes. This way they get to rehearse in her mom's house, or something like that. I did tell you that, Mary, didn't I?

Did you see last night's episode? Did you catch the part about Korn renting out Gran's house? The writers were trying to think of a band that could rent out the house and my friend just threw that out as a joke and they decided to go with it!

Arthur (Arthur), Thursday, 16 January 2003 07:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Ugh, Jess. That smarmy fuck's my least favorite character by far. They should do a show about that one really neurotic guy that lives with his mom!

Dan I., Thursday, 16 January 2003 08:38 (twenty-two years ago)

A show dedicated to Kurt. That would be something.
I loved his film project. genius.

nick ring (nick ring), Thursday, 16 January 2003 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

the korn thing was so out of place though...because judging by the other music rory is supposedly into, she wouldn't have thought it was "cool" that her gran rented her house out to korn.

Arthur do you have more spoilers? will rory be ditching jess soon or will it be long and dragged out?

sand.y, Friday, 17 January 2003 00:46 (twenty-two years ago)

you all need help.

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 17 January 2003 02:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I echo the immediately preceding.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 17 January 2003 03:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I heart The Real Jess!

Re: the breakup of Rory & Jess. Not sure how soon it happens. I think they go to a concert by a band Rory doesn't care about and that leads to a fight. I believe they got the Distillers to be the band. God knows why. My friend suggested Slipknot, he thought it'd be funny. They didn't go for it this time.

There's a death in the family, soon, though! The Korn guy comes to the funeral. And Paris and Rory have a huge falling out. And somebody actually has sex.

Ms. B (Arthur), Friday, 17 January 2003 04:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I would love for ilx jess to show up on GG. He could deflate all the indie snobbery from indie jess's pumpkin sized head.

bnw (bnw), Friday, 17 January 2003 05:11 (twenty-two years ago)

three weeks pass...
I'm afraid I really, really like this show.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 13 February 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

(Haha maybe that should've gone on the 'I'm not gay...' thread)

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 13 February 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I like and dislike this show in equal measure. I can't decide if the girl who plays Rory is a good actress or just a pleasant TV presence. A lot of the supporting cast annoy me.

Amateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 13 February 2003 22:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I want to marry the mom.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 13 February 2003 22:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Me too.

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 13 February 2003 22:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think I could keep up, but it would be fun trying.

Amateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 13 February 2003 23:24 (twenty-two years ago)

LORELEI: (witty observation)
RORY: (snappy retort)
AMATEURIST: Ummm
LORELEI: (devastating riposte)
RORY: (droll comeback)
NABISCO: Moo

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 13 February 2003 23:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, well let's see Lorelei log in to a music nerd menatlist web forum, and then--

(hangs head)

Amateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 13 February 2003 23:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I haven't seen this show in ages, by the way. Is the cute English teacher out of the picture?

Amateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 13 February 2003 23:42 (twenty-two years ago)

He was most def. not cute, and he is most def. out of the picture. Die, Max Medina, die.

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 13 February 2003 23:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Everyone in my Boston flat thought he was dreamy. (Albeit a little smug.) Esp. compared with that diner owner, whazzizname.

Amateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 13 February 2003 23:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Luke rules.

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 13 February 2003 23:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I suppose but he looks like a professional wrestler 5 years into retirement.

Amateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 13 February 2003 23:47 (twenty-two years ago)

:(

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 13 February 2003 23:49 (twenty-two years ago)

(OH, you know I'm just jaloux.)

Amateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 13 February 2003 23:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Rory's newish feathered hairstyle = ROWR. And to her mom: "I'm going to fuckk."

NOW IS THE TIME!

Dan I., Thursday, 13 February 2003 23:58 (twenty-two years ago)

There are all these Gilmore Girls ads up and down the El stations in Chicago, and both of them--but especially Rory--look incredibly cute (Lorelai less so only because her mouth is wide open; which is actually truth in advertising, but it mitigates the cuteness somehow). Something good to stare at whilst waiting to catch the Red Line.

Amateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 13 February 2003 23:59 (twenty-two years ago)

They are on like every bus! I need a run of Buffy ads to remind me why I don't actually see Gilmore these days.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 14 February 2003 00:05 (twenty-two years ago)

So, you know that death I talked about upthread? It's not gonna happen after all. Unless the actress who plays Ms. Patti dies, which doesn't seem unlikely.

Luke's stupid backwards baseball cap/flannel look doesn't really flatter him--he always looks greasy and huge-headed. Sure it's more believable as small-town CT attire than anything the other characters wear, but who cares. This is a set in Burbank damn it, not reality!! Hopefully he'll go out on dates more often--he looked really hot when he went to town with the lawyer chick. Surprise-he has a full head of hair!

Last week's episode was Paris-less. Zzzzzzz. Although there was a fair amount of Lane and Dave Ragowski is really pretty cute. Isn't Lorelei's new love interest a dud, though? He's got country rock hair.

Doesn't it seem like everyone on the show has a huge forehead?

Arthur (Arthur), Friday, 14 February 2003 00:16 (twenty-two years ago)

i really hope Rory doesn't sleep with Jess! he's so...ick.

sand.y, Friday, 14 February 2003 03:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Doesn't it seem like everyone on the show has a huge forehead?

Balding is imminent for all, poor souls.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 14 February 2003 03:50 (twenty-two years ago)

RORY: (snappy retort)
AMATEURIST: Ummm
LORELEI: (devastating riposte)
RORY: (droll comeback)
NABISCO: Moo

By the way, this is the funniest thing I've seen on ILX.

Amateurist (amateurist), Wednesday, 19 February 2003 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

(It even contains a hidden intertextual reference to a previous ILE script-joke about Tara from Buffy!)

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 19 February 2003 18:54 (twenty-two years ago)

today's episode was soooooooooooo good. it's the best one of the season so far. esp. the state paris was in. and the big wimp that i am, i got all misty-eyed when when paris and rory made up.

sand.y, Thursday, 27 February 2003 03:14 (twenty-two years ago)

But but they trick you! the commercials strongly imply that it is Rory who does the fucking!
