Must they be made of feathers? What kind of boa would the vegan wear?

That Girl (thatgirl), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 23:07 (twenty-two years ago)

made of snake.

Feather boas rule. I wore one for the first time in years in November and I realised how much I loved them.

I don't think I would dig the feather ones. I think this stems from my mother telling me as a child not to pick feathers up from the ground b/c they had lice.

(Yes, and with the most shallow post I'll ever make, I'm off to make the British version of Clueless. Like duh uh!)

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 23:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Sam, we cross posted. I was making fun of my ridiculous post, not your more balanced response.

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 23:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I was discussing a fear of lice so was being ridiculous as well. Surely we cannot have a balanced discussion about boas, can we?

I have one in curly lamb. And I've seen blatantly polyester tinsely ones that probably would be safe for vegans.

No.

I wanted another one since Moulin Rouge came out.

I used to have the most amazing thick, dark purple one. I used to wear it to gigs and things. The unexpected thing about boas is how *warm* they are. I miss having a feather boa, but I don't think I would ever buy one now. It was very well made; I had a friend who had one which used to shed like mad but mine never did. I don't even remember where I got it.

the band The Boas was pretty good when we saw them. A little boring, probably better on record.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 10:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I've only worn one once - at the work Christmas party a couple of years ago. It was shocking pink and left pink stains on the collar of my shirt.

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 10:41 (twenty-two years ago)

"glassons dud" ??

Good ole Manics.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 10:41 (twenty-two years ago)

glassons is a horrible chain fashion store in new zealand. they don't sell feather boas, but every slapper at KCs worth her bread and butter has one.
