I like to eat with a knife

Just a knife, no fork. I like to chop my food up using fingies and knife and then impale it on the knife and eat it.

toraneko (toraneko), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 01:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I also like chopsticks.

toraneko (toraneko), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 01:57 (twenty-two years ago)

some days i wish i could receive all my nourishment through an intravenous drip

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 01:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you not enjoy eating?

toraneko (toraneko), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 02:04 (twenty-two years ago)

sometimes, but i'm having body image issues right now

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 02:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, me too. I'm too fat and flabby. Because that depresses me I eat more. But I still enjoy the eating bit.

toraneko (toraneko), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 02:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I do this sometimes, it makes me feel like a pirate.

Nicole (Nicole), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 02:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 02:48 (twenty-two years ago)

What is the pirate trying to do? That looks like he's trying to garden.

Nicole (Nicole), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 02:57 (twenty-two years ago)

he's erecting a signpost

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 02:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Metal detecting on the beach...for BURIED TREASURE. Um, me hearties.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 03:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Can you cut with chopsticks, Toraneko? I have a friend who can do that, it's impressive. (not steak, but dumplings and such.) Then you wouldn't even need a knife.

Maria (Maria), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 03:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I love chopsticks. I wish every restaurant had them.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 03:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Proper cutlery etiquette is the one thing that was indelibly drilled into my brain by my father when I was very young. Thus this thread scandalizes me on some very base level. hehe. I am now one of those people that, when they are finished with their food, absolutely has to place the knife and fork neatly together on the plate (fork on the left, knife on the right, blade facing inward to touch the fork) - to indicate that I'm finished. I'll emphasize that I am not normal a compulsive or even especially orderly person, but this one thing I can't stand not to do - I MUST. It even bothers me to see other's utensils lying splayed out on an empty plate. I realize this makes me sound completely insane - thanks Dad.

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 03:45 (twenty-two years ago)

make that not NORMALLY

(although, clearly I'm not "normal" either)

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 03:46 (twenty-two years ago)

you will be horrified by this song then Kim:

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 03:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I've heard that before - and it DID horrify me!

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 03:51 (twenty-two years ago)

'pease' - that word makes me feel weird

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 04:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I eat with my hands

Mike Hanle y (mike), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 05:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Most people eat with their mouths. What are you, some kind of freak?

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 05:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I am with Kim, two lonely voices of civility.

Toraneko, I worry that you are going to cut off your fingers and eat them inadvertently.

Paul Eater (eater), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 06:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I like to eat Cheetoes (and other, um, brightly-colored food that might stain the fingers) with chopsticks. In fact, my mother and sisters do the same. Guests think we're odd when we serve them Cheetoes in bowls with chopsticks. *shrug* I think it's logical.

And, if society allowed it, I'd probably eat most of my food using my fingers - for me, eating is a rather hedonistic pleasure and I want to get the most out of all of the sensations it provides (well, not quite that dramatic, but along that line).

LCD (Ms Laura), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 06:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm still very disturbed by that pirate + dildo picture

C J (C J), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 06:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I kind of like the image, but I thought it was a skeleton and not a pirate. Don't know why that is any less disturbing to me, though.

LCD (Ms Laura), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 07:03 (twenty-two years ago)

oh man, i am sooooo awful with the whole cutlery etiquette thing. i remember learning it at school and just thinking "OH MY GOD THIS IS MADNESS" like, espeically the "placing the utensils in your plate a certain way when you're finished" thing. indians don't really have any of that stuff. i think it's so funny when i go to an indian restaurant, and people are eating onion bhaji's etc. with a knife and fork, and then they look at you funny becuase you're not using a knife and fork. i mean...YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO EAT THEM WITH YOUR HANDS! THAT IS THE INDIAN WAY OF DOING IT!

also, eating cheetos with chopsticks = best idea ever!

sand.y, Thursday, 16 January 2003 01:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Is that the best song ever?

Curtis Stephens, Thursday, 16 January 2003 01:22 (twenty-two years ago)

two years pass...
i'm eating cereal with chopsticks because i couldn't be bothered to pack any other utensils. yeah i know forks are cheap and easy to come by, but i've already got a perfectly suitable food delivery device.

The Pinup Girls of YANK (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 1 June 2005 18:31 (twenty years ago)

I was stabbing food this weekend at a BBQ - very satisfying.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 1 June 2005 19:19 (twenty years ago)

CJ, yet again, has me in stitches.
