Medical advice - my KNEE.

Does anyone know if it's possible to dislocate and then immediately relocate your knee whilst doing a little jig to take the piss out of your brother for handballing during a football match? Cos my knee went *pop* and then *pop* again very very quickly last night, causing me to fall to the ground screaming and not be able to walk very well this morning. It doesn't *hurt* but it wont take any weight and is dead dead stiff. I'm off down the hospital later to get it checked (off work today, hooray!), but I thought thatb seeing as ilxor is an enormous source of wisdom and knowledge, I'd ask here first!

PS. There are about 50 chaffinches and greenfinches (sic) outside the window here, it's dead cool, especially considering we've got no external windows at work.

yeah, this happens. especially due to handball piss-taking jigging. has it swollen up?

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 11:19 (twenty-three years ago)

It's either that or the ligaments slipped a bit.

My dad had dodgy cartilage in his knee when he was younger (due to football too, I think) and that can jump out with a pop and then jump in again, k painful I understand.

Not possible to be a full dislocation. You cannot get the patella etc back in alignment that easily. Prolly a cruciate ligament tweak. Where's the pain - front or back?

Shit, he's the Doc!

Suzy, both of us are supposed to be working. I'll put my computer down if you put yours down.

Well, consensus seems to be that the cartilige (sic) slipped out and then slipped back in again. It's not swollen or bruised and I can walk now (albeit slowly, and very slowly on stairs). So back to work tomorrow! It was dead weird though, it went *pop* *pop*. Uergh.

This happened to me one night in a drunken karate kid swan technique imitation. I kicked and blew my knee out like this. I woke up the next day and passed out because of the pain. they said the cartilage had slipped. But i have two bad knees from playing hockey and baseball my whole life. so they always hurt.

I was right, I was right - Dr Smee, that's me!
Oh yeah, hope it gets better soon and all that too.

Is Dr C a real doctor? I had him pegged more as a Dr Who type doctor, really.

OOps, I did it again. Last Thursday, not jigging, but lifting my leg past someone as I dribbled round them. We had three minutes to go and I was on a hat-trick. Assness. But it meant I had loads of time to play with the iPod as I couldn't walk. Still went into work the next day, mind.

Just been to the hospital as it's getting very sore; they've told me to take tomorrow off, and that I should have had a day off already! Result!

My knee went again last night. The cricket is over. Today at home is going to be VERY boring.
