Labs are wondrous creatures. The last two family dogs have been labs -- Suzy, a black one (picked her out as a puppy and I still remember her fondly) and Lexie, a golden lab who is still alive and is very silly and fun. :-)

Lab puppies = cute as hell, so puppies.

Hrm...Both puppies and kittens are cute. However, most puppies, unless exceptionally well trained, will grow up into beasts who jump all over you out of curiosity and excitement and bark simply because squirrels are running around outside. Also, I've never heard of a litter box-trained puppy or dog. Advantage: kittens.

Puppy starts anticipating his moves, though. You notice that when Kitten disappears behind the desk Puppy looks on the other side.

I don't know, the puppy gets to rest on the rug at the end, the cat doesn't. I think the puppy forgets towards the end that he is 3x bigger than his sparring partner, hence the pounce that sends the kitten reeling. Way to go stinky, play to your strengths!

This is like some kind of Rorschach for whether you like puppies or kitties better. Personally I prefer puppies, so it looks to me like a fun little tussle is going on for the blanket space, and puppy is going easy on kitty, but kitty just keeps coming back, over and over, and finally makes the mistake of coming in fierce and knocking puppy over, forcing puppy to unleash the smack and send kitty running. That last look into camera = "Dude, what the fuck is wrong with that kitty? Did you see that? I mean, fun and games is one thing, but that fucker doesn't know when to quit."

My round-the-corner neighbors' puppies had squirmed under the fence again and greeted me in the street. I picked them up and put them back in the yard (getting severly puppy-kissed in the process) but I'm terribly worried about them. I hope they get too big to escape soon.
