How alternative a lifestyle is Indie or Preppy or any of them? Are we referring to youth music/fashion/group behaviour, rather than a real shift from the norms and values of a society which a sub-culture has often be described as?

What I guess I'm asking is: What makes a subculture? And are these subcultures?

I hate Goth hippies. Fucking wandering about in their tie-dyed tops listening to Bauhaus, smoking pot and reading Emily the Strange... cunts, the damn lot of them.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 20:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh man, Bowlers are waaaay better than Hackeysackers. It's always the same with you, isn't it Horace.

Nicole Roland (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 20:03 (twenty-three years ago)

What a moronic question.

chris sallis, Tuesday, 4 February 2003 20:10 (twenty-three years ago)

We've talked about them before, but trustafarians/trust fund hippies are loathsome. Nicole is right. I don't know how many times I've wanted to grab a hackysack away from some, well, trust fund hippy and whip it out into traffic.

Bryan (Bryan), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 20:20 (twenty-three years ago)

I like hackeysack, 'cause even if you're the worse hack that's ever lived, you cannot lose.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 20:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Isn't it just flying bean bag watching then?

Bryan (Bryan), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 20:26 (twenty-three years ago)

being a trust fund hippie sounds like the most fun though.
