Does anyone know him?

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 15:55 (twenty-three years ago)

nope, but that's a dumber name than greg kitten.

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 15:58 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought this thread was gonna be about Jane Austen.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:02 (twenty-three years ago)

NO KATE BUSH JOKES, PLEASE.

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Jane Austen???

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:04 (twenty-three years ago)

no greg kitten jokes, either.

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:05 (twenty-three years ago)

*withering look*

Wuthering Heights.

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Wothering fields.

Wathering fjords.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Was your withering look at me or jel, Lara? Because EMILY BRONTE wrote Wuthering Heights. Not that I would wither jel anyway, it's hardly an important mistake.

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:08 (twenty-three years ago)

OPPS! I may have made an error of judgement. I'm not well, please forgive me.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Where's that thread about stupid things you've said lately?

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Archel. I am a literature major and know full well that Jane Austen could not, in her wildest, provincial dreams, have written Wuthering Heights.

THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT LITERATURE.

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Here you go jel, let it all out:

What really embarrassing thing have you said recently?

OK I give up. Kate Bush and Emily Bronte allusions aside, WTF is Heathcliffe Bird?

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Grr (to self). The withering was for Jel. The literature major comment was for Archel.

*starts again*

I'm trying to locate a chap called Heathcliffe Bird...

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:15 (twenty-three years ago)

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:16 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought Cathy was Heathcliffs bird?

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:17 (twenty-three years ago)

I have followed up most of the links that I have found through web searches to no avail. I need contact details for this man.

Heathcliffe is a designer and was my next door neighbour for two years when I lived in London. We lost contact when I was in Asia and I have decided that finding him is going to be my project for February.

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm quite impressed by the amount of confusion that has amassed in thread after only 15 answers.

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Perhaps Wuthering Height's should be the next book club read?

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:20 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought heathcliff was a cat.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, he is.

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:23 (twenty-three years ago)

I loved Wuthering Heights! I must read it again. I liked first Cathy better than second Cathy.

Mark C (Mark C), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:23 (twenty-three years ago)

There's a book club?

Christopher (Christopher), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:24 (twenty-three years ago)

is he colin firth?

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Catherine Earnshaw rather than Catherine Linton, then.

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:25 (twenty-three years ago)

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Are you cruisin', mister?

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:30 (twenty-three years ago)

that's not a picture of me, by the way.

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 16:31 (twenty-three years ago)

So he's not on the electoral register and none of the people he's done design work for have current contact details for him.

Does anyone have any realistic idea how I'm going to go about finding this man?

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 18 February 2003 22:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Cilla Black?

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 18 February 2003 22:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Fuck off.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 18 February 2003 22:46 (twenty-three years ago)

surprise, surprise.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 18 February 2003 22:49 (twenty-three years ago)

You're like Little and Large, you two.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 18 February 2003 22:54 (twenty-three years ago)

four months pass...
Lara? Mail me!

Heathcliffe Bird, Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Isn't that ironic?

Alanis (Nicole), Thursday, 10 July 2003 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I cannot fucking believe this. I TAKE EVERYTHING BAD I HAVE EVER SAID ABOUT ILE BACK!

(If Heathcliffe and I have babies we will make sure every ILE regular is a godparent of one and our first born will be called Statscock.)

Lara (Lara), Sunday, 13 July 2003 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Lara don't scare the man.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 13 July 2003 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Statscock Bird? Or Statscock Byrne? Or god help the little mite, Statscock Byrne-Bird/Bird-Byrne?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 14 July 2003 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't work Nick, Heathcliffe and I have had long talks (in 1996) about babies and HE ASKED ME. We will just have to see if I still meet his rigorous standards: I am not much fatter than I was seven years ago, have a full head of hair and am only missing one tooth, which I disguise by clenching my remaining teeth together at all times.

Surnames are so last century, don't you think? Statscock will do just fine as it is.

Lara (Lara), Monday, 14 July 2003 19:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't work Nick? Perhaps subconsciously I'm hoping Heathcliffe will agree to us adopting you and taking care of you forever?

And btw, the day I take relationship advice etc...
