"Boris the Tomato" by Alex Martin

A comic allegory, set in a greenhouse in Kent, about a tomato who plots to take over the world.

NB: I actually had this book as a child.

NB: I am aware that the tomato may or not be a "berry", but wanted to leave room for someone to start a thread about books told from the perspective of minerals.

Is Veggietales the Christian animated TV show? I rejected that once (high quality, too much God nonsense) in my old job. Then we went and bought the company who made it so we ended up with it anyway.

aargh! i once had to write an essay on the topic "my life as a vegetable" - i think it cost me a place in the exceleration program at my highschool.
i wrote a story about a family of apples once, but i guess that doesn't count.

Wasn't the Munch Bunch spawn of an evil child too?

smee (smee), Thursday, 6 February 2003 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't know smee but I tell you, when I was 9 (and an aspiring writer of course) I was convinced that J*yne F*sher was my fucking NEMESIS. Really.

Archel (Archel), Thursday, 6 February 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I once (long, long ago) wrote a story about 2 trees that fell in love. Ok, so they weren't vegetables...

Honda (Honda), Thursday, 6 February 2003 23:50 (twenty-two years ago)

there seem to be an inordinate number of these vegebooks, i just remembered another one, 'groundsel' by fergus hall - it's more of a magical gardening creature than a vegetable but his face is composed of various fruit & vegies: snow peas for eyebrows, leeks for a beard, apple cheeks and a pear nose
