I listened to a few and yeah one or two were funny or sad but during some others I just felt like I was participating in a vile violation of someone. Is this kind of thing even legal? Is it wrong? Does it make any difference if the women were mentally ill? Does it make it worse?

I mean, it obviously stinks cause of the intrinsic misogyny of only including women, but lets say it had 'psycho ex-boyfriends' on it too.

We laughed hysterically at this at an old job, largely because a coworker was dating a woman who was EXACTLY LIKE THIS at the time. (Before people ask, the coworker was there and laughing with us AND we were saying, "See? You need to break up with her! SHE IS PSYCHO, much like this girl!")

N, you've missed the point; these are all the SAME GIRL calling this one guy.

I can't listen to mp3s at work (No! Not because I shouldn't - I just don't have speakers), but I must address the questionaire 'Is your Girlfriend a Psycho?'
The first question is:
"How many cats does she have?"

WHAHAAAAA?
What's so psychotic about that? Cats are soothing to the soul and shit.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 6 February 2003 20:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Somehow I don't think I would find shitting a cat very soothing.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 6 February 2003 20:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I am a fool for missing the fact that they were all the same woman - I saw the 'is your ex-girfriend a psycho?' sidebar link and the fact that one of the mp3s had had to be removed and assumed otherwise. All American women sound the same to me ha.

Anyway - the same questions apply, more or less.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 6 February 2003 20:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Dan, you misread. Cats are soothing to your shit.

Nick A. (Nick A.), Thursday, 6 February 2003 20:54 (twenty-three years ago)

WILL YOU TAKE MY MORAL HANDWRINGING SERIOUSLY?

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 6 February 2003 20:56 (twenty-three years ago)

"Cats are soothing to shit" can be interpreted two ways. I chose the less soothing interpretation.

N, I think there's something of an issue, largely because we're only getting this one guy's side of the story. As I said, though, I witnessed a psycho girlfriend in action who would leave messages just like this on a coworker's voicemail, or would call him up and pick arbitrary fights with him, or would SHOW UP AT THE OFFICE AT RANDOM TIMES and then pout/pick a fight in front of everyone because the boyfriend would do work instead of paying attention to her. So I'm not ruling out the possibility that this woman is actually psycho.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 6 February 2003 20:59 (twenty-three years ago)

I refuse to post and give you justification for this foul and heartless act of voyeurism.

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 6 February 2003 21:00 (twenty-three years ago)

No, no, no! You are all wrong!

Cats are soothing to the soul and shit.

I mean that:
1- Cats are soothing to the soul
and
2- Cats shit.

Thank you.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 6 February 2003 21:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Wait, under that interpretation, shouldn't it be:

1- Cats are soothing to the soul

2- Cats are shit

?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 6 February 2003 21:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh no! So much miscommunication and hurt feelings! This is horrible!

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 6 February 2003 21:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I got through two and didn't see the humor in it.

dan (dan), Thursday, 6 February 2003 21:35 (twenty-three years ago)

As I said, much of the humor came from being able to visualize coworker's girlfriend making these calls. The mirth was expounded when he admitted that she had made calls almost exactly like this, with the same rapid-fire frequency.

(Some context: After being taken out to a nice dinner on her birthday and receiving some nice sapphire earrings, she caused an enormous scene because he hadn't proposed to her. At this point, they'd been dating a month.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 6 February 2003 21:42 (twenty-three years ago)

It makes me think of Ramon, ergo it is hilarious. Hindsight is everything.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 7 February 2003 03:27 (twenty-three years ago)

We should have drinks,Ally.

That Girl (thatgirl), Friday, 7 February 2003 03:59 (twenty-three years ago)

If these are the same sound files I heard a while back, I'm extremely suspicious. These all sound very fake.

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 7 February 2003 04:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Ramon psuedo-threatened me AGAIN in an email today. It's like he doesn't realize we broke up a year ago, and I'm dating someone else, and I just really don't want too much to do with him anymore. It's refreshing, this doggedness, but also extrodinarily creepy.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 7 February 2003 17:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Distance is everything, innit?

The other week, I ended up having dinner with my psycho ex's (lovely) (post-me) Ex and he texted her something like 4 times during our conversation. He was freaking out that she was talking to me. I had to laugh. I felt really bad, because I wasn't laughing at what she was going through, but laughing cause "my god, that used to be me, and I used to get so upset about it and now... I don't actually care!"

Is it time to go home yet?
