I care! A bit. Why do I only care a bit?

Possibly because since they released Hello Nasty I actually listened to Licensed To Ill for the first time, and now see their career as a downward rather than upward slope.

the first three were perfect for the times that they came out in, last two is where they kinda got stuck

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 6 February 2003 23:04 (twenty-three years ago)

I agree with you both but I still care a lot. :)

That Girl (thatgirl), Thursday, 6 February 2003 23:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I really liked Ill Communication, but it was my first album-length exposure to them. And nine years ago (!)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 6 February 2003 23:11 (twenty-three years ago)

i bought that sucker the day it came out. on tape.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 6 February 2003 23:12 (twenty-three years ago)

i bought paul's boutique the day it came out on tape and vinyl. ;)

That Girl (thatgirl), Thursday, 6 February 2003 23:16 (twenty-three years ago)

i feel old

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 6 February 2003 23:17 (twenty-three years ago)

I got into them through Ill COmmunication and then bought the others. When Hello Nasty came out I was convinced that it was their best. Loved all the silly bits where they did bossanova and dub reggae. But since then I've found I can't listen to them any more. I just had to stop after about a year and a half of listening to them every single day without fail. Don't know if i'll get the new album though it would be interesting if they progress from the last three.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 6 February 2003 23:55 (twenty-three years ago)

i'd kind of forgotten about them. they are very overdue, it must be said.

ducklingmonster, Friday, 7 February 2003 00:28 (twenty-three years ago)

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 7 February 2003 02:10 (twenty-three years ago)

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 7 February 2003 02:13 (twenty-three years ago)

mike d is really funny looking as a middle aged man. i don't really intend to be mean, he just is

ron (ron), Friday, 7 February 2003 02:25 (twenty-three years ago)

i was 8, btw

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 7 February 2003 02:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I was 12 Jesse, it's okay.

That Girl (thatgirl), Friday, 7 February 2003 03:12 (twenty-three years ago)

what did you just call me?

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 7 February 2003 03:14 (twenty-three years ago)

sorry, watching wacko jacko, not paying attention to what i type

That Girl (thatgirl), Friday, 7 February 2003 03:22 (twenty-three years ago)

I care but I'm also afraid of what it's gonna be like. I'll be interested to hear it, though I have no great expectations. (I did like Hello Nasty a lot, though)

M Matos (M Matos), Friday, 7 February 2003 03:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Rumor has it they've really gotten into emo.
I repeat:
Rumor has it they've really gotten into emo.

Sea Change was hurtful enough, damn it.

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Friday, 7 February 2003 04:44 (twenty-three years ago)

"Rumor has it they've really gotten into emo."

Then why won't they return my calls?

Colin Meeder (Mert), Friday, 7 February 2003 09:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I care I care - Hello Nasty was goood god damn it! Mind you, I went to see them "in the round" and that wasn't so good...

smee (smee), Friday, 7 February 2003 10:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I was nonplussed by Hello Nasty at the time. Lately I'm keener on it, but PB is deffo my fave by a long way. I care a little, but not overly.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 7 February 2003 10:56 (twenty-three years ago)

'Hello Nasty' was amazing - but i'll be even more amazed if the next Beasties album is REALLY good - maybe it will have more of a French-house/disco/electro-pop influence here and there, that might work - they should have a serious think about changing their flow styles/patterns tho

stevem (blueski), Friday, 7 February 2003 12:59 (twenty-three years ago)

New Beasties = New off-kilter videos by Spike Jonze. Ergo, worth caring...

jm (jtm), Saturday, 8 February 2003 06:56 (twenty-three years ago)

I bought "Cookie Puss'" the month it came out. On 12 inch. Then I backtracked and got Pollywog Stew. On 7 inch. I was 57. I'm tired of disliking them cause they annoyed me a million years ago, I wanna be floored by the new one.

Arthur (Arthur), Saturday, 8 February 2003 07:58 (twenty-three years ago)

i bought most of their albums. at some point after they came out. i can't remember how old i was.
