I have just come back from a weeks holiday. Back to the tedium of a job that is ok, but not exactly exhilarating. I currently live with my b/f in rented accomodation where we are both barely covering ourselves financially in jobs that we would leave tomorrow given the chance. We've both come back from holiday with very itchy feet. We both want to settle down & have a family, but maybe we should do more with our lives first. Is it just the typical reaction to the return to work after a holiday? Any thoughts on the carefree couple life against a life that involves marriage, kids & inevitably dull jobs that u do to pay the bills?

Pretend you're married, and then try wife-swapping. If it doesn't satisfy, either settle for the dull married working life, or find someone new

Oh no, I do want to get married to my b/f & have kids with him, just wondered if we should do more together first. Def no splitting up involved.

There's no answer to this - it's a personal choice. Yes, having children does restrict your freedom somewhat (unless you take the "I'm off on holiday, there are pizzas in the freezer option, unacceptable for at least the first couple of years), but people seem to think it's worthwhile, for reasons that rather mystify me. This is no less true when you're 30 than 20 or whatever, you just have to decide when it's the right time for you, if ever.
