Keeping busy for free

J.Lu was saying on the broke thread how hard it is to keep busy without spending money, and I think I have the same problem.

1. Get a job

Graham (graham), Monday, 10 February 2003 13:30 (twenty-two years ago)

2. Steal cable and stay at home

Vic (Vic), Monday, 10 February 2003 13:31 (twenty-two years ago)

3. Take lots of naps.

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 10 February 2003 13:32 (twenty-two years ago)

4. Start writing for some music magazine, either online or whatever, and then you never have to worry about paying for a gig again, cause you can just blag your way into everything. What do you think I've been doing for the past two years?

kate, Monday, 10 February 2003 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

4. If you have a pet, get into bestiality, just for kicks and/or developing a closer relationship wih your furry one - "you just may like it"

Vic (Vic), Monday, 10 February 2003 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

hey you'll never have to worry about paying for dates that way, just kitty chow

Vic (Vic), Monday, 10 February 2003 13:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I was looking for something to prevent 3.

Graham (graham), Monday, 10 February 2003 13:40 (twenty-two years ago)

4. Re-read all of your favorite books and romantic novellas that are stored in the basement that you've forgotten about

Vic (Vic), Monday, 10 February 2003 13:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I meant 5.

Vic (Vic), Monday, 10 February 2003 13:45 (twenty-two years ago)

6. Make your friends throw parties and invite you.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 10 February 2003 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

7. Rekindle (or develop) your passion for watching linoleum peel

Vic (Vic), Monday, 10 February 2003 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

8. Collect dust

Vic (Vic), Monday, 10 February 2003 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

9. Talk to plants (this is especially EASY to do if you're a self-centered twat and more of a "talker" than a listener, plus isn't it good for the psychology of the plant too? Seriously, I've read that somewhere = plants that are talked to live longer and happier lives than plants that are neglected)

Vic (Vic), Monday, 10 February 2003 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

10. Reorganize your sock or underwear drawer, by color, length, and underwear waist-length

Vic (Vic), Monday, 10 February 2003 14:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Ohmigosh, is the fact that I'm coming up with so many saying something about me ? "Uhh, yes I have a life, just most of it has been spent INDOORS"

anyway 11. learn to get turned on or spiritually in tune or entertained with the hum of the fridge. this way, u won't have to spend on new music, and you can start appreciating the peaceful comforting fridge-vibes all night. this is what kittens and birds do, anyway. well at least my cockateil back home, it would always snuggle up next to the fridge when it was left home alone, out of its cage

Vic (Vic), Monday, 10 February 2003 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Please stop now Vic.

Graham (graham), Monday, 10 February 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

17 and 21 aren't cheap (well, they never are for me, anyway).

toby (tsg20), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I often just go to the off licence and have friends around, that surely is pretty cheap especially in London, or at least anywhere I've stayed in London had super cheap off licences. As for food, I guess it's cheap cos I have basic ingredients at home already bought.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:43 (twenty-two years ago)

There should probably have been an "on your own" condition in this. (though activities that involve meeting new people fit this and would be ace)

Graham (graham), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:44 (twenty-two years ago)

use college facilities, gym or internet or tv or whatever happens to be free?

Develop an obsession with cleaning. Go for long walks to nowhere. Alphabetize everything you own.Write long lists of everything you own. Read the business section of the paper.

alix (alix), Monday, 10 February 2003 16:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Join a library and read HP Lovecraft novels!

Hey Lixi will you remind me I need to take aforesaid HP Lovecraft back to the library tomorrow or face a fine?
