Do you?

What ones do you have?

I'm gonna stick a Zwan one on my guitar, yay!

My guitar, despite being covered in holographic glitter fishscales, only has one STICKER per se on it. It is a Brian Jonestown Massacre sticker on the pickguard.

kate, Monday, 10 February 2003 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

My blue guitar (first guitar): put a little pic of a star on the front and taped a pic of my cat's grave on the back (it was pretty - my mom even bought a little ceramic angel for it).

My classical guitar: I put a flower sticker on it - cut it so that it fit around the hole beautifully. Tried to take it off day and ended up taking off part of the black circle around the hole too so I gave up. It looks like crap now anyway because one time a candle melted all over it.

No stickers on my SG. I'm being a big wuss about it.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes!! I have an "Oops! I killed a gang of ninjas!" sticker on my bass! It is the only sticker I think I shall put on it.

No sticker will grace the guitar of Godard.

Neither will any further talent, at the rate I've progressed in several years...

Sarah (starry), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm against it. It leaves gunk on yr stuff if you try to take them off after you realize Zwan isn't really all that great. They let people make easy comparisons about the music you play, even if they aren't true (my band was described as twee because our bass player was wearing a Kicking Giant shirt with the K logo on it). They smack of seeking approval for yr influences/tastes. And most stickers are ugly.

Nick A. (Nick A.), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

On the case— classic
On the guitar— only if the band is so underground that only you’ve heard of them

No One (SiggyBaby), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

my guitar has the following:

* Pokemon Graveler
* Power Rangers Lightening Strike
* One from a cereal packet that says DUDE
* A Man or Astroman one
* A Scooby Doo one
* Airwalk A logo
* An Add N to X one
* One I peeled of my discman about 22 hour playback/made in Japan
* Zwan bendy guitar logo
* A 3 for 2 sticker
* An "includes 3 Exclusive Tracks" from a CD sticker
* Fragile (from the post office)
* another cereal packet one that says COSMIC

I just get stickers and dunno what else to do with them.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

sticker gunk isn't very hard to take off, if you've got Goo-Gone or some other similar product. it won't hurt wood and most paint, either. so you can always change your mind later.

i don't have stickers on either of mine. what i do have are paintings my friend and i did---he did one of this blues-playing cat man, and i did some weird butterfly thing that involved loads of silver glitter on the back of a sunburst Harmony.

i haven't put anything on my keyboard---i think i might put some stickers on the case and/or the stand at some point, but i don't think i'll ever do my keyboard like that.

janni (janni), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I had Powerpuff Girls stickers all over my computer, but they changed all the casing when they repaired it and didn't replace the stickers. Sob.

Graham (graham), Monday, 10 February 2003 18:00 (twenty-two years ago)

My guitar is black, and has a big white circle with a big green apple in it painted behind the bridge.

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 10 February 2003 18:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Di to thread! She's got quite the collection on her guitar.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 10 February 2003 18:09 (twenty-two years ago)

stop taunting us ned

Graham (graham), Monday, 10 February 2003 18:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I had a yes logo sticker, not the roger dean one, the speech-bubble one from the 1st 2 albums on my rickenbacker 12-string. I took it off tho' coz it started to look a bit shabby. I have a load of stick-on numbers, a W.A.S.T.E. muted posthorn (that I painted myself) and a TG logo sticker on my bass guitar.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 10 February 2003 18:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Mein guitarr has:

* Shogun Warrior sticker
* Botan rice candy sticker of little ninja
* a heart from one of those Great Expectations Singles networks postal spam

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 10 February 2003 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

My guitar has no stickers, and I'm not likely to put any on it. I dunno, if I had a bunch of guitars, it would probably be fun to sticker one up, but I have a thing about stickers: I don't like to use them. Because once you use a sticker, you can never use it again.

Also I have a fairly minimal design style and so, yeah, stickers mean clutter.

I really like stickers on other people's guitars, though.

Chris P (Chris P), Monday, 10 February 2003 18:31 (twenty-two years ago)

my casio pt-10 has one that says "beep beep"

jel -- (jel), Monday, 10 February 2003 18:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm all for them if they're silly, I wouldn't put band stickers on there.
My bass has 2 Hello Kitty stickers, one say "I like Donuts" the other says "Please Eat Donuts" Then there is a love hart on there, and a glow in the dark one that says "Disco Frenzy".
I like my blokies, he's got a cartoon starfish on his leccy guitar, and an "Iceland's cool and so am I" on his accoustic. Iceland as in the shop.

Celeste (Celeste), Monday, 10 February 2003 18:50 (twenty-two years ago)

jimmybaker, Monday, 10 February 2003 18:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a Hellacopters sticker, an Angry Samoans sticker, an "I love powerviolence" sticker, and a Lost Goat sticker on my guitar, which is also completely wrapped in silver mylar tape.

Kris (aqueduct), Monday, 10 February 2003 20:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I've been meaning to cover the Ensoniq marking on the keyboard with a King Black Acid sticker 4EVAH!

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Monday, 10 February 2003 20:44 (twenty-two years ago)

My bass has a Swell Maps sticker that Barbara Manning gave me 12 years ago on it. I like it.

Douglas (Douglas), Monday, 10 February 2003 22:31 (twenty-two years ago)

My GOD I want Sarah's sticker so I can put it on my instrument (MY NECK YOU SICK PEOPLE).

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 10 February 2003 22:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I have stickers all over my Rickenbacker (Sub Pop, Stereolab, Badtz-Maru, Hello Kitty, Powerpuff etc) but none on my Telecaster.. There is a weird stencilled Elvis thing on it but that was there when I got it..

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 10 February 2003 22:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Classic. My amp has a robot face made of stickers, cock esp sticker,spangly droids stickers and spangly powerpuff girls stickers (gift from di).My casio has a dragonball Z sticker.

ducklingmonster, Monday, 10 February 2003 23:03 (twenty-two years ago)

my guitar has "girls rule!" stickers for fret markers, plus one of those little sticker photos with elisabeth on it. sticker photos make great fret markers.

di smith (lucylurex), Monday, 10 February 2003 23:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I have the explodingdog.com red robot sticker on the side of my RS7000 next to the International Noise Conspiracy Sticker. I cut the five red stars off the top of said INC sticker and put them on the back next to the Diesel Sweeties 'Metal Steve' skull sticker. On the left side I have just one sticker, from the Marginal Prophets. On the front I have the Diesel Sweeties 'I AM A ROCKER. I ROCK OUT' sticker. The top features an official 'TOP SECRET' classification sticker from work.

My TG33 has a Planet E records sticker on the front/top. My TQ5 has a PLACEBO sticker on it and a M_NUS records logo right below, both on the face.

I couldn't find good places for my Alesis and Behringer stickers so I put one on a power strip and the other on top of my TV set.

Millar (Millar), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 01:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I liked you better before you sold out.

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 01:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Putting stickers on the bass drum head of your nice jazz drumset=PUNK AS FUCK.

(I have never brought myself to do this, but have seen it done. I put all my stickers on my practice pad, actually I'm very proud of the sticker collage there).

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 04:48 (twenty-two years ago)

My shitty old jap bass has 2 stickers on it, little SPC peaches dressed up, one as a scotsman and one as a beefeater (for england). They came from a can of peaches. I thought they wuz cute.

I never play my bass *shamed face*.

I have stickers all over my PC monitor though! :D Pucca ones especially, and a Buttercup from PPG one. Yeah.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 04:52 (twenty-two years ago)

It kinda looks like classic, doesn't it. My SG has so far a Sleater-Kinney roadside big sticker on the back and one saying 'SEXIST' on the edge.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 04:58 (twenty-two years ago)

this will date me badly (probably), but around the scratchplate of my Rick I have Letrasetted an Elastica lyric: If I can't be a star, I won't get out of bed. Oddly, I'm not embarrassed by it.

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 05:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Woody Guthrie's was best: "This guitar kills fascists." (Not a sticker truly, but...)

Amateurist (amateurist), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 05:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I've got a ton of glitter Hello Kitty stickers on my toolbox.

Layna Andersen (Layna Andersen), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 05:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Nothing on the guitar except for some scratches and a radio tower magnet on the bridge plate (from the "Weird Science" collection of refrigerator magnets)

Heaps of stickers on the case though, perhaps the best is a smallish sticker of some owls with "The Owls Are Not What They Seem" written underneath.

Chris Barrus (xibalba), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 08:29 (twenty-two years ago)

i have a les paul with a "diesel fuel only" sticker. i wouldn't stickerize my jaguar though. we're getting married.

what about skateboards?
i got stickers on mine that say "you sniffed a cock" and "kelly osbourne shagged your mum", as well as the little Speed Demon guy that come with my bearings and "don't nuke iraq" stickers.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

(It comes from the FACTORY like that! I love Japanese glam bands and their signature model guitars!)

Colin Meeder (Mert), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 12:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Got a bunch of stickers on my old one, but I like the finish on the new one too much.

Matt (Matt), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

best thing i've seen was a busker with one of those £200 fine for busking on the london underground stickers on his guitar whilst, er, busking on the london underground. rock n roll!

koogs, Tuesday, 11 February 2003 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

That is absolutely r'n'r. I like the Japanese guitar's message, it looks like a warning to sleepy mothers.
