Does the media go to far?

Do reporters feel their rights overrule everyone else's? Should celebrities, and even everyday people be allowed to have privacy without worrying about reporters? Should relatives of murder victims be allowed to greive, without having a reporter shove a microphone into their faces?

Didn't the media kill Princess Di or something?

Anyways, the media rules!

Pre-emptive "clear it up before it starts to annoy me" pedantry: media = plural.

Go too far? Hmmmph! I can't get them to leave! They come, eat the biscuits, leave crumbs on the rug and dirty the towels. They couldn't go far enough off to suit me.

Keebler is Kellogg's. I am Kraft's.

Yes, the media goes too far. While I can see the argument that celebrities are voluntarily in the "public eye," that does not mean that they no longer have any rights to having a private life.

I do not see why the media feels the need to chase celebrities and others (frequently the unfortunate victims) and then publicize their traumas. Really, it's disgusting. And I know that it's "what sells" but that disturbs me even more.
