nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 10 February 2003 23:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Ooh! *wakes up*.

Yes, I have a spare room and I'm really needing a flatmate. East St Kilda. $400pcm. Email me if you're interested...

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 13:17 (twenty-two years ago)

so i hear there has been a ilx housemate swop! :)

minna (minna), Sunday, 2 March 2003 08:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Yep! Gareth's friend moved in with me on Saturday, and we've already had a phun Sat. night at my best mate's house listening to some house/jazz/trace rekkids, and planning a combo housewarming/birthday (mine) party. So its All Good! Huzzah, and thankyew Gareth :) (I did email you a thanx but I am not sure if you got it).

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 March 2003 00:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Gareth has other motives -- this friend of his is to spy on you and to make sure you're worthy of eventual invitations to London FAPs. But that's all for the good.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 3 March 2003 00:38 (twenty-two years ago)

as long as she doesn't pass any information back about me. i must stay an enigma

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 3 March 2003 00:39 (twenty-two years ago)

*chortles heartily at that very idea*

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 March 2003 00:45 (twenty-two years ago)

err, what Jim said that is, not what Ned said. I will come back to London one day maybe. When I win Lotto. And after Ive been to Canada first. Hah.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 March 2003 00:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Jim is a wondrous enigma. And I've met him so I know it's true. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 3 March 2003 00:52 (twenty-two years ago)

He sure does wear some enigmatic shirts!

Man, I am so dead next time I see him *grin*.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 March 2003 00:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Oi!!

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 3 March 2003 01:01 (twenty-two years ago)

one year passes...
I'm looking for a house... please email me if you know of anything!

OCP (OCP), Wednesday, 19 January 2005 07:17 (twenty years ago)

six months pass...
Hi I don't really keep up with ILX anymore but hey thought I'd give this a longshot... just moved to Melbourne (from NZ)...don't know anybody; looking for flats though I haven't really started looking yet as I don't have a job yet - thought it kind of unlikely I'd get into a flat not having a job, at least it's so much better for everyone if I'm sorted first. When I do get a job (yikes, I better) it should be normal office hours kinda thing..... if you wanna spy on some of what I'm like there's my livejournal info... staying in shitty backpackers at the moment - people coming into the dorm all through the night... trying to find some cheap boarding house type place next but someone here just might have a possibility, even a short term sub-let thing (or advice). I'm not too fussed on area but around Smith St Fitzroy seems real nice...I really want a place that's quiet during night at least, but I'm not in the situation to be too fussy. I can give my (aus) mobile number or email me.

Wow... this thread. Thought I'd never be reminded of it again *grumble, dont ask*)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 09:13 (twenty years ago)

ASKING!

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 09:14 (twenty years ago)

Lets just say the thing with Gareth's friend who moved in er, didn't work out all that well, after a while. Boys were involved.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 09:15 (twenty years ago)

O, sorry Trayce!
I was thrilled to see kookaburras today!
Where I wrote, above, what I'm like, shoulda said what I like.

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 09:26 (twenty years ago)

jimmy glass (electricsound), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 09:27 (twenty years ago)

Ah, I was trying to figure out which was which. I probably look like a sheepfuxxor...is it odd to wear beanies here?? I'm sure people are looking at me weird. People here are so good looking! I feel like a real hick!

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 09:39 (twenty years ago)

charltonlido (gareth), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 10:01 (twenty years ago)

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 10:16 (twenty years ago)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 11:20 (twenty years ago)

i'm in love with this thread i think, it takes two seconds to read but contains years of activity, impressive. if i ever visit australia, which i hope to do within a year, i'm looking you all up!

carly (carly), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 11:48 (twenty years ago)

I will be living in Melbourne before the end of the year, perhaps sooner.

I'm playing it cool but it's terribly cruel / Kate (papa november), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 11:49 (twenty years ago)

but around Smith St Fitzroy seems real nice...I really want a place that's quiet during night at least,

Erm, that's not it then. Certainly not when Victoria Police did training at the old NMIT and brought in a bloody tank to blast a wall (amid semi-automatic gunfire) at twenty to five in the morning with the fucking chopper overhead and police cars all up and down Johnston Street.

Still, check the Friends Of The Earth window on Smith Street for people looking for flatmates. Something I've got to do soonish.

Sasha (sgh), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 12:16 (twenty years ago)

Thanks for the F of the Earth tip - I've just checked it out and it's right up my street (lack of any "eco consciousness"/concern is one of the worst things in a flatmate for me!), I found a notice for what sounds like a great hostel, "home on argyle" which I'll check out tomorrow.
Mully, I think Sydney would swallow me up and spit me out...

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Thursday, 11 August 2005 09:28 (twenty years ago)

East St Kilda is really lovely and quiet. Myself, and Adam Crankypants both live in the area, and really - it has all the cool shops and bars and whatnot of St Kilda but none of the tourists, wankers, drugs or drunks.

Jewish bakeries and delis all over the place as well.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 11 August 2005 10:03 (twenty years ago)

cool I'll keep that in mind... I like being around Jewish stuff, I was thrilled just with Coles near Acland St!
Definately keen to live away from the alkies and junkies.
This site looks handy.
