What's actually happening to create this phenomenon is the fact that there are certain guys who really only give a shit about getting loads of pussy and then other guys like myself who like pussy fine but don't see quite why they should spend so much time going after it. Thus the me becomes a drum machine programmer slash jazz trombonist while Russell the Cootchie Hound picks up a Stratocaster because he knows it will score him the babes, and then because he is already focused on snatch, he naturally gets more than the me, who is too busy playing with reso filter to notice that Laura thinks I'm cute.

Interesting theory here - my non-live-in SO is a classical guitarist, who has now strayed from that field and makes raucus noise. Anyway, I fell for him *before* I new about the guitar thing. Maybe I just intuited it?
