Worthy of celebration. And I do know that feeling. :-) I'll hash out the taxes the weekend after this one -- working for the AMG is nice, but it also means I owe rather than get back tax money, and for that reason I cry.

(Not just now, in the hope of interesting you - several years ago.)(And anyway, sex is very safe when you are unlikely to be on the same continent in the foreseeable future.) More seriously, good luck, whatever you do and decide to do.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 12:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Two. There are about three others planned.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 30 March 2003 14:21 (twenty-three years ago)

have you published any so far?

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Sunday, 30 March 2003 14:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Nope, but it's because I've gotten some feedback and interest that I'm doing this more serious work on it. And that's good.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 30 March 2003 14:26 (twenty-three years ago)

ah. good luck.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Sunday, 30 March 2003 14:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey grraham, yes, I did -- thank you :) -- and I was waiting an appropriately reciprocal interval to respond. But I will, eventually.

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 30 March 2003 22:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, and me and Brendan B. Brown, we're like that*

(* accompany with appropriate gesture of your choosing)

(Thanks Flic)

Graham (graham), Sunday, 30 March 2003 22:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, crap - I didn't do so well. But here goes.

1. Get taxes done. - In the mail to the accountant.

2. Finish and submit paper for Gendered Rhetoric. - Ha! Ha, I say! Actually, it's finished but for the damn Works Cited list and a proofread and I think I need to make-up some more good sounding quotes to back-up my arguments.

3. Assess status in Dr. F's class and make list of what is still due. - Er, um. Well. I did find the paperwork, but I've not looked at it.

4. Complete first draft of "The Three Amigas." - Yeah, right. I have the first chapter drafted out.

5. Complete first draft of "The Rick Fiasco, Part Three." - Um, this one fell apart, too, but that's because I am trying to make him a sympathtic character. If I make him a jerk, then it's easily written.

6. Revise drafts of "The Rick Fiasco, Parts One and Two." - Wow, I forgot all about this.

7. Finish revision of website, FTP to server. - And this, too, kind of. But I did work on Glenn's site, so that will be acceptable.

8. Spend less time on-line and more reading. - YES! Accomplished!

9. Finish a minimum of two books a week, aim for three. - YES!!! Also Accomplished!!!

10. Revise and update C.V. - Yes, this one is finished.

11. No relapses this month! - I did relapse, but I'm home now, and so I'm claiming a basic success.

Next month I am going for less resolutions, and ones that are much easier to accomplish, so I can feel better about myself *grin*. I did, however, get my ILX 20 things in to Sam before other people (well, before some of the others,) and I did get to see Jenny and Chris, so that is a good month to have lived.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Monday, 31 March 2003 01:12 (twenty-three years ago)

i wasn't excellent to each other and i didn't really party on. unless those things translate as "turn into a caricature of myself". hmm.

di smith (lucylurex), Monday, 31 March 2003 04:56 (twenty-three years ago)

felicity- I picked up Jesus Colome off the waiver wire, does that count?

James Blount (James Blount), Monday, 31 March 2003 05:01 (twenty-three years ago)

- finish writing and start recording the next LP
- start fixing up parts of the house in preparation for selling it
- not waste all my $ on booze

i did not come within screaming distance of any of these. especially the last one.

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 31 March 2003 05:03 (twenty-three years ago)

hey di! i saw you party on several times in march. party on = drunkender = robot dance = caricature of self = robot dance!

di smith (lucylurex), Monday, 31 March 2003 05:09 (twenty-three years ago)

ducklingmonster (ducklingmonster), Monday, 31 March 2003 05:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Lessee, how did I do:

- do taxes (nope didnt happen, though I did get a rude letter from H&R Block, so it will be happening soon)
- have still been smoking and drinking, tho I've put a good lid on it this last week
- havent bought any CDs but Ive had loads of new stuff burnt for me, and I got loads of DVDs...
- I havent' written anything worth mentioning :(
- the flat is starting to look really neat all the time (apart from Nalini's flooded washing machine disaster, but eh, shit happens)
- I didn't get drunk on my birthday! Yay me!

Same old same old really.. with slightly more organised mind than at month's start. I'm getting somewhere...

2) Learn how to make some kind of food that isn't THING.

Erm, no. Sorry.

3) Use those free weights gathering dust under the bed to get rid of the dreaded BINGO WINGS

4) Finish _Sister_ (though this may have to wait until April, when my actual sister is here to provide inspiration) and get started on _Playing With Fire_

Nope, and this is severely disappointing. I've done the least writing ever this month. Need to live life less, and write about it more.

5) Record the guitar & vocals for the EBA demo

Hey, at least I did this! Well, we got one song finished and it sounds GREAT!!!

kate, Monday, 31 March 2003 06:28 (twenty-three years ago)
