di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 01:08 (twenty-three years ago)

there's a nervous checkout operator in metro new world in wgtn who makes the experience of buying kai on the hoof extra good.

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 01:13 (twenty-three years ago)

there's an Italian-looking girl in my local supermarket. She's pretty curvy and occasionally when she's serving her tummy gets uncovered *swoon*

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 01:15 (twenty-three years ago)

NB i have never called a woman a "burd" before, i just wanted to see what it was like. oh nervous ones are the best, see c untdown crush number two. sometimes i see her walking down the street, she always walks like shes in a mad rush and has an intense face and she never smiles and wraps her cardy round her tight.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 01:17 (twenty-three years ago)

clare what does yr checkout chick look like?

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 01:19 (twenty-three years ago)

s/he has eczema on the inside of his/her elbows - possibly one of the most sexual parts of the human body; (usually) good for licking i think - that connotes somatic nervousness as well as mental nervousness (i know the two aren't really mutually exclusive). and s/he has short hair that is combed over to one side in what i imagine to be a quick and strong combing action. clothes are standard and i've only seen him/her in situ so i couldn't begin to imagine what s/he wears ouuta the supermarket. shoes - ditto, dunno. the thing that gets me is that after every person s/he cleans and orders his/her workspace, readying it for the next customer and displaying a high level of pride in his/her work.

one thing that people have not yet said on this thread's parent thread is that wellington is the nz transexual capital. s/he is transitioning, i believe.

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 02:12 (twenty-three years ago)

i hasten to add: i'm not transitioning.

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 02:20 (twenty-three years ago)

i thought i was still on the carrie thread - hence the 'parent' comment

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 02:26 (twenty-three years ago)

it's never too late to start.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 02:27 (twenty-three years ago)

local video store has a gothish lady (fave actor: Tim Roth sez her name tag) who drove me wild...but she's seemedly really stand-offish lately. Probably cuz I'm renting shit most of the time and displaying my nerdiness by laughing at movie covers or whatever.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 02:38 (twenty-three years ago)

the snotty, tiny, hip-hop chiXor who serves me coffee...i want your babies

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 02:44 (twenty-three years ago)

my most HATED check out person - i know that this is the wrong place - is the goth actor guy who was sucking up the breeders arses at their recent wellington gig and who works at the city's best video store on saturdays and who ignores everyone who is not a stinking goth. he wears sunglasses all the time and has dyed black (shock!)hair that's greasy. a while ago a group of goths killed one of their own and dumped her body down a hill here; i believe he narrowly missed out on being found out as being the murderer he certainly is. moreover, i believe he has sex with skulls he digs out of karori cemetery - a very usual goth past time in this city. i also believe his thyroid glad is overactive.

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 03:06 (twenty-three years ago)

four weeks pass...
well dirty dancing matthew no longer works at c untdown. this seriously IMPAIRS my shopping experience, such that i have started going to new world occasionally. international socilaists boy still works there, he DOES NOT KNOW I EXIST which is absolutely OUTLANDISH if you ask me. and the petrajane girl - what happened to her? i never see her at c untdown anymore.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 2 April 2003 01:19 (twenty-three years ago)

that reminds me, i have to do some grocery shopping.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 2 April 2003 01:21 (twenty-three years ago)

I just did some grocery shopping tonight myself. I was not alas helped by a hot checkout chick.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 2 April 2003 01:32 (twenty-three years ago)

I was just reading a news article on Lisa Germano today and it seems she supports herself by working at Book Soup in L.A. Her last LP only sold 6000 copies.

nickn (nickn), Wednesday, 2 April 2003 06:35 (twenty-three years ago)

one month passes...
i wonder if international socialists boi would notice me if i set Das Kapital to casiotone.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 14 May 2003 00:05 (twenty-two years ago)

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 14 May 2003 00:08 (twenty-two years ago)

sadly for him, i am not that desperate.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 14 May 2003 00:14 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm almost desperate enough to ask him out while he's on the job, but thats bad form isn't it?

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 14 May 2003 00:19 (twenty-two years ago)

i bet he doesn't even like music anyway, the filthy pleb.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 14 May 2003 00:19 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, asking someone out at work isn't great (unless you work together which is a different ballgame)

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 14 May 2003 00:22 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm almost desperate enough to ask him out while he's on the job, but thats bad form isn't it?

Depends on the sense in which you're using 'on the job'.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 14 May 2003 11:15 (twenty-two years ago)

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 14 May 2003 22:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Vikki from the Lancaster branch of HMV...

I'm drooling here.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 15 May 2003 00:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I am a checkout chick! But I am not hot. I do not belong on this thread.

kirsten (kirsten), Thursday, 15 May 2003 00:44 (twenty-two years ago)

kirsten is not OTM.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 15 May 2003 00:45 (twenty-two years ago)

in fact, she is Off The Money. WAY OFF.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 15 May 2003 00:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Mmmm y'all just reminded me of the adorable boi who works at my local video store. I dont know what it is, but he has these rosy cheeks and cute baby faced indie kid look to him. He's been there as long as Ive lived in the area, which is years, gods knows why someone'd wanna be a clerk for that long but there you go.

I now have that song "I'm in love with the girl who works at the Manchester Virgin Megastore checkout desk" stuck in my head and I cant recall for the life of me who it was by. Pooh Sticks or someone like that?

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 15 May 2003 01:57 (twenty-two years ago)

they were talking about that song on a Rocking Vicar mailout but i don't remember the band. it wasn't the Pooh Sticks tho'

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 15 May 2003 02:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah I know it was some v obscure little anorak band, I dont own the track tho, the damn ex who had a record collection like yours had that song ;)

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 15 May 2003 02:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Chris Sievey and The Freshies, apparently

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 15 May 2003 02:29 (twenty-two years ago)

produced by Martin Hannett apparently

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 15 May 2003 02:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah! Thanks for that. I have no idea who that band was! Cute song but.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 15 May 2003 02:32 (twenty-two years ago)
