Horrible, yet compelling.

Compelling, how?

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 6 March 2003 12:33 (twenty-three years ago)

I like their super modern logo. And the miserable guy. They work together.

Graham (graham), Thursday, 6 March 2003 12:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Ok, just horrible then. I do like the idea doing "Informer" as "I'm a farmer". I've never got over the Wurzels.

That looks like the soundtrack to Tim H's nitemares.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 6 March 2003 12:45 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought that the Wurzels were the band that sang the Wonbles' songs until I saw them interviewed on teevee last summer. I wish I'd been left in blissful ignorance.

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 6 March 2003 12:46 (twenty-three years ago)

I was thinking of Tim when I posted it. And at many other times, often late at night when Elisabeth's asleep.

I know someone from Somerset who moved to America for a year and took her Wurzels LP with her so she wouldn't lose her accent.

Tag (Tag), Thursday, 6 March 2003 12:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Losing a Somerset accent would be as difficult as climbing Everest in Manolos.

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 6 March 2003 12:51 (twenty-three years ago)

'I'm a farmer' should be appropriated by the Exeter Supporters krew immediately. It could just thing to the inspire the team to stay up.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 6 March 2003 12:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Are they in danger of being relegated into the ??? division? A group of my friends went to see them play Bournemouth a couple of weeks ago.

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 6 March 2003 12:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Are any of the others covers? Indigo Dreams sounds familiar.

Graham (graham), Thursday, 6 March 2003 12:54 (twenty-three years ago)

smashing

Alan (Alan), Thursday, 6 March 2003 12:56 (twenty-three years ago)

I heard on the radio this morning that Country Life says Devon is the best county to live in. Would Tim H care to comment?

(Hertfordshire and Staffordshire were the worst)

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 6 March 2003 12:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Talking of the Wurzels, I was very disappointed when this story turned out to be without substance.

Indigo dreams is an affectionate tribute to frilly-cuffed 80s popstars shooting into space, Graham.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 6 March 2003 12:57 (twenty-three years ago)

The Wurzels had a song called "Somerset Crumpet Horn", about a brass instrument that gives off a sound irrestible to women. I can't find such a thing on ebay, though Christ knows I've tried.

I recently downloaded the Wurzels cover of "look back in anger" to prove to a friend that you really can find anything on Soulseek.
The umpa-umpah sound was what the original was lacking, I feel.
