He has also been told to have his teeth straightened and whitened before he takes on America.
The singer says he may now turn down the lucrative deal.
He told The Sun: "I've been offered a major deal but I'm in a dilemma.
"They want me to keep quiet about my private life and, worse, they've told me to get my teeth straightened.
"I thought they were joking but that is the bottom line."
how many americans here have heard of will young?
I don't think he would do anything in america whether they knew or not--he is no better than a whole bunch of singers that sell over there already.
he'd have to have a really great song, or something, but, if someone had a really great song, why would they give it to will young?
I think he'd be better just to stay in the UK with crooked, discoloured teeth and not release any more records and do something else.

Does this mean our insistence on dental hygiene is somehow more terrible than our homophobia, or that he prizes his crooked teeth more than the freedom to be truthful about his sexual orientation?

Anyway, umm, I think my point is something like: how you look is a time-tested aspect of pop-star success, so it doesn't seem surprising to me for a label to comment on the teeth. (No more than dieting or hair styling or whatever else.) The opening up of the celebrity realm to homosexuals has come well before the opening up of the celebrity realm to unattractive people!
