the demise of IL* greatly exaggerated

So, I come home from work today to find *20* new threads on here, 8.5 hours later. Seems pretty healthy to me.

(In fact, I can't keep up...but that should be remedied once I figure out how to fix the damn ethernet card on my work PC.)

who said it was in demise?

Mike Hanle y, Wednesday, 5 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ethan. Ha ha ha.

DG, Wednesday, 5 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It's still on the rise, in a normal distribution I would say it's at the point where it is expanding less rapidly than it was before, we have the long solace of plateau to come.

jel, Wednesday, 5 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

when the fuck did i say ile was dead?

ethan, Wednesday, 5 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ILE has been going for 4 months. Assuming a normal distribution, that makes Ethan's prediction just as likely.

Tom, Wednesday, 5 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It's all your fault, homey g Ethan P.

All virtual places fade eventually. It's to do with core/ popular users, if a core user leaves for whatever reason, then a group of other posters also stop participating. It's like a house of cards really, take away a card and it all collapses, core users are the foundation. So maybe in a year or two years, or even three, Ethan's prediction will come true. This theory is known as jel's law, it will be in text books one day.

jel, Wednesday, 5 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

wait a minute, i've been taking all the fucking heat for saying the obvious here so when it goes in the goddamned textbooks it will be ETHAN'S LAW.

ethan, Wednesday, 5 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ethan is the moderator-approved board scapegoat. Blame him for EVERYTHING.

DG, Wednesday, 5 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ow, I stubbed my toe. DAMN YOU ETHAN.

Dan Perry, Wednesday, 5 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

anthony, Wednesday, 5 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sorry Ethan, I know you did all the groundwork and such, but that's how it works man...Someone elses always claims the glory.

jel, Wednesday, 5 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)
