1) How many dinosaurs would it take to beat up King Arthur and what types.

2) What if King Arthur had all the knights of the round table/Merlin/the cast of the Saturday morning French CGI cartoon Excalibur/a Conneticut Yankee/a spaceman/Martin Lawrence on his side.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Merlin is the key variable here.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:27 (twenty-two years ago)

SILE4?

dave q, Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:27 (twenty-two years ago)

old fashioned dinoasaurs, or this new "bird-like" liberal nonsense?

Alan (Alan), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Especially consider the importance of the preponderance of fossils in the South West to the King Arthur myth.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Tyrannosaurus Rex could beat up King Arthur but King Arthur is fast and nimble and has a MAGIC SWORD but only one brane but if Merlin was there he could turn all the dinosaurs into chinchillas and its really quite easy to beat up a chinchilla so ARTHUR WINS.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Also, surely the pteordactyls would be too busy circling the tower in which Guinivere is held captive?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:35 (twenty-two years ago)

anyway, location is everything. i think dinosaurs would have the upper hand in a south american rainforest type thing, especially with lava and stuff. but merlin/arthur would be able to channel power of glastonbury tor, or tintagel castle, etc, if in a more Celtic arena.

Alan (Alan), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Michael Eavis would have nightmares with dinosaurs AND hippies trampling over his land, wouldn't he?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I think a diplodocus would drink Tintagel's moat.

What if SIR MORDRED switched sides? (Readers can you spot who the evil knight is going to be - Galahad Lancelot Perceval MORDRED Gawaine etc.)

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:41 (twenty-two years ago)

The fence would never keep them out.

And can we fit Morgan Le Fay in here somewhere.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Arthur, with the armour and everything, would be unable to outrun a pack of velociraptors. They might have a bit of a problem biting and slashing through the armour but unless he's deadly accrurate with his sword swings they could keep him busy until exhaustion. Then they could pick him apart at their leisure.

robster (robster), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

My spelling needs to be more 'accrurate' as well.

robster (robster), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Obviously he is deadly accurate with his sword swings, he wouldn't be King Arthur otherwise.

Oh no! The dinosaurs have won and eaten King Arthur! Oh no!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:49 (twenty-two years ago)

All he had to do to be king was yank the thing out of a rock!

robster (robster), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:50 (twenty-two years ago)

King Pellinore would be okay due to his experiences with the Questing BEAST.

Sam (chirombo), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Morgan Le Fay sweeps in on the back of a pterannadon (IT IS A DINOSAUR, IT IS, IT IS. pah)

Alan (Alan), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Velociraptors didn't exist before 1992 anyway Rob so they are too late for King A.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Aaah but what if a TIME PORTAL opens up?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:55 (twenty-two years ago)

brontosaur v apatasaur FITE!

Alan (Alan), Thursday, 20 March 2003 12:17 (twenty-two years ago)

even if Arthur had Merlin to protect him from the Velociraptors, he would still be in lots of trouble, because Merlin would remember that the spell to turn prehistoric animals to chinchillas had a couple more sentences than the normal one and coz he doesn't use it very often he can't quite recall what they are, so he would lose valuable seconds while he delved into the pocket of his gown to retrieve his spell book. Now, unfortunately, Merlin's gown has extra deep pockets and the spellbook, being the heaviest of his possessions, always falls right down the bottom, so he would have to chuck out all the other crap in there (Airwaves, packet of Marlboro Lights, his front door key ect ect) before he could retrieve the book and turn to the right page. During which time, a Quetzalcoatlus would've swooped down and made off with his pointy hat, rendring him powerless.

If the US Army couldn't stop all those Dinosaurs in the movies back in the 50s, what chance would King Arthur have?

Red Nerussi (Neanderthal), Wednesday, 10 March 2021 20:24 (four years ago)

Lot of people overestimating Merlin here (MarkH excepted.)

lukas, Wednesday, 10 March 2021 20:48 (four years ago)

Arthur is a Pendragon, the Chief of Dragons, and dragons are essentially dinosaurs plus fire breathing, so Arthur wins

Fairly sure The Sword and the Stone established that King Arthur and dinosaurs are friends?

Lily Dale, Wednesday, 10 March 2021 22:32 (four years ago)
